Damn you Zarek!!!

Ok, no I haven’t given up on my rants against Roslin and Adama just becasue they had a good episode. I have been so sick the past few days I have been praying to the Lords of Kobal and the Cylon God for death as well as having to fix a few things on my computer. Do you think I was poisoned by the Adama/Roslin dictatorship???

I wanted to say that as much as this makes me sick, Geata should have isolated and killed off both Adama and Roslin at the very beginning. It is sad to say, but that is the problem with a dictatorship. That as long as they were alive they were going to be able to get support from those who are loyal to them.

The sad thing here is that both Roslin and Adama will now feel even more vindicated in their actions and it should be the reverse. They need to look inward and try to find out why so many were so ready to follow Geata.

Had they gone at this in a more correct way, had the Quorum gone about impeaching Roslin when she was AWOL and had Geata organized a peaceful revolt on Adama (and yes the counters what I said about killing our 2 dictators here) there would have been some righteousness on their side.

It is my sincere hope that Adama and Rosling have reattached their brains, and that Zarek, Gaeta, narcho, and those with the mutiny have reminded them of how the fleet rests on the edge of a knife. I think they took their roles for granted looking for some R&R when now is not the time.

Militarily there is no such thing as a peaceful revolt. No mutiny has ever happened that didn’t happen at the barrel of a gun or the edge of a blade.

Wow. I agree Roslin has been slacking off a bit lately, but I don’t see that she’s done anything worthy of the death penalty.

deserved every bullet from the firiing squad…

If you’re going to rule in place of a deposed dictator, you better have them dead or much better control of the populace.

So you’d prefer a dictator who pays lip service to democratic ideals but shoots the representatives of the people as soon as they don’t kowtow to his whim?

What a boring show that would be if they died…

No passionate speeches.
No chamalla hippy visions.
No more Roslin/Adama theme.

And most importantly, no more bald cap sex.
:frowning:

snicker Commander Gaeta, psh

My objection isn’t a tactical one. As far as tactics go, I agree with the old adage “If you strike a king, kill him”. My objection is that insofar as Gaeta should have known that committing treason and mutiny like he did would necessarily entail murdering Roslin and Adama (if he wanted to succeed), and given that neither Roslin or Adama have done anything to warrant being killed, Gaeta should never have embarked on that perfidious course in the first place.

I think he did want them killed, because as he said when confronting Adama. In his eyes, they were guilty of giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
But, he wanted them to face a trial (Rigged though it may be) and then be executed, like what he thought should have happened to Baltar. Also he didn’t want all of the other casualties, he just wanted Roslin and Adama out of command. It’s the other casualties that affected Gaeta.

Erm … um … riiiiiiight.

:stuck_out_tongue:

No I am not saying that. It is unfortunate that Zarek killed off the Quorum like he did, or that he did it at all. I would submit that had Admiral Adama supported a Zarek Presidency as he legally should have the mess that led to the events that had Zarek murder those people would never had occurred.

True, but the civilians could have done it peacefully by using the Quorum to make Zarek or someone besides Roslin the President while Geata took over the Galactica. Geata would have had to have killed Adama however, that is sad to say but as long as he was alive he was a threat to take his ship back.
Roslin, you can make the same statement of her. Even if you jailed her for her crimes she then becomes a sort of President in exile.
