The Daleks have exterminated all challengers to be named the greatest monsters in the galaxy by sci-fi fans
The metal-clad mutant race - first seen on Doctor Who in 1963 - triumphed over creatures from Star Trek, Lord Of The Rings and the Alien and Predator films.
As much as I love the Daleks and what they are now in the new incarnation of DW. One BORG cube and it’s pretty much over. Never mind the adaptive nature that they have. Granted it would be a fun fight but in the end I see lots a broken pieces of what used to be Daleks. Sadly the cybermen are bit players compared to the Daleks. Now the Doctor meeting the Borg Queen that would be fun.

This must have been done in England, no one in the US would have voted that way surely.
You know that’s the thing about it. No link to the mag doing this. I’d expect if they said who it was from this would be in much better focus (IE a UK mag).
Well I reread the article. The mag is mentioned. Still no link but mentioned. It is a Brit scifi site. So that explains lots about where that poll should be considered. (Blinking Borg didn’t stand a chance in this poll).

I thought so, the Yahoo page was from a UK/Ireland section and most of the news links were of English/European interest. So it would make sense that the magazine they would be promoting on their site would be a UK magazine.
So this begs the question… Should I care what they think?
No.
They are welcome to their opinions, have fun. But you are steeped in another culture with which I am unfamiliar, enjoy yourselves but don’t expect me to join in with you. I enjoy dabbling in your programing every now and then for a little variety in my media diet, but I am not a huge fan as of yet. Mostly due to a lack of availability and funds on my part…
I remember being chased (the whole class) by a Dalek back in infants school so I would be about 6 years old, it was not scary quite the opposite, one of the many fond memories of that part of my life:)
To be honest the Dalek as a hide behind the sofa bad guy is a perpetuating myth, even moving to people who were a lot more world aware having grown up in more media saturated world.
At least I’m glad to see him on the list. Well, sorta, anyway.
And surprised (but glad too. He is awesome, if not scary. :D) to see Lorne on the list too. I didn’t know Angel was that popular in the UK.
Yup, it was a staple of the post-watershed SKY1 lineup for it’s entire 5 year run but hacked to pieces for it’s “free” broadcast on terrestrial CH4 so much so it pretty much killed the shows appeal for later seasons.
It’s now filling the Syfy schedule so still very much a known commodity.
