Dalek found at the bottom of a lake

That’s pretty funny.

LOL - that is so frakking cool. I would love to have my very own Dalek!!!

It’s less fun than you’d think… but it is excellent for sulking in.

I find it hilarious that they have to keep secret the location where they found the muck filled Dalek head. Tells you a lot about the level of crazy among the British Who fan.

I love Who, but even if I knew the secret location I doubt I’d trundle down to some mosquito ridden slime puddle just to gaze adoringly at the hole the Dalek head left in the water.

As to owning your own Dalek, search DIY Dalek or build your own Dalek and you can see many examples of Daleks being built all around the world. You can make your own from scratch or buy a model.

Here’s one man’s very short story about trying to build a Dalek. He either loses interest…or he is somewhat slow. Hard to tell, but he has some interesting links.

You can also make Dalek cakes and there are Dalek patterns for knitting. Now, aren’t these cute?

So, if you DO Missmuffet (or you DID Naghtiest Monkey) build a Dalek, be sure to post a pic!

Eh - I am not mechanically inclined unfortunately - I guess I should have said " I would love to have a fully assembled Dalek arrive on my doorstep…"

maybe they will find the TARDIS in the The River Thames.

I’m in that boat too. Of course you can pay quite a lot of money to have someone build one for you…

Another option is the 18 inch remote control battle Dalek

OR. if you prefer full scale, you can get your own Dalek head! Note how the body is not included however. You’ll have to supply your own.

Isn’t the world a wonderful place? A Dalek for all tastes and budgets.

Ooh I like the little 18" one - if they have the ability to say “EXTERMINATE!!!” in that horrible annoying voice I might just buy one…

Someone recently used one of those in a kidnapping: http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2008/08/21/dalek-kidnapping-gone-south/

I think it would have more to do with obsessed fans drudging around for the rest of it. Hunting the entire area for any other whovian artifacts.

As a jumping-off point, I found this interesting story on that self-same page :

I have to argue how fictional a language actually is when it’s not only being actively used in our society, but developed and printed in.

Still, very cool.
