Crom vs. the Lords of Kobol?

Conan’s Crom vs. BSG’s Lords of Kobol?

Crom knows the Riddle of Steel.

The Lords of Kobol BLEW UP A FRAKKIN’ STAR.

For a signpost.

'nuff said.

it’s true–when you start frakkin with an actual star for use as an offramp sign…you’ve got much mojo.

Not hatin on Crom…just sayin’

Yeah, gotta go with the LoK here. They’re MUCH more interested in what goes on than Crom.

I think a couple of y’all are overlooking how badass Crom is.

Exactly. As always, the trick here is what kind of battle are we talking about?

If we’re talking about a physical fight to the death, it’s Crom all the way. If we’re talking about who lives a better life, I’d have to go with Crom as well: His system definitely provides for far less suffering on the God’s part.

If we’re talking about blowing up stars and killing by the trillions, well, it’s LoK on top there.

But since I kinda like the Crom concept (“Don’t pray to me. Worship me through bettering yourself. If you pray to me, I’ll f your life up so bad you’ll improve yourself, but you’ll know to do it your damn self next time.”) I’m going w/Crom.

I think this is an example of conflating Conan’s awesomeness with Crom.

It depends which version of Crom we’re really talking about here. In the original stories and movies, we never see Crom actually do ANYTHING. In fact, it’s not even clear that he even exists. In the comics, he’s a bit more proactive, but it doesn’t seem that he’s particularly powerful. He’s certainly defeated other gods and demons, but almost always with cleverness and trickery. Against the Lords of Kobol, I just don’t see that being sufficient.

I can’t agree. To paraphrase an idea from the Indy arc:

Don’t bring a sword to a cosmic explosion fight. :stuck_out_tongue:

If it’s a fight to the death (whatever that means for gods), why would the LoK limit themselves to an old-school mano a mano fight with Crom? Like Indy, they’d see him swinging his sword and then they’d drop him into a black hole.

Exactly. The LoK, as absent as they seem to be, are WAY more involved in the real world than Crom.

No offense, Crom. Love ya’, guy.

That is precisely what I’m doing.

Crom doesn’t need to blow a star just to boost his ego (sign post my moldy butt). His followers know how badass he is. It’s not a fair fight anyway, how many Lord’s of Kobol are there? 10 are mentioned in BSG but who knows how many they didn’t talk about. Plus in the original BSG one of LoK is dead, what type of supreme being dies??? Only a deity of great power can afford to totally ignore his worshipers.
