Cool Hand Luke Frak Party

Wednesday, October 15, 10pm ET

Paul Newman recently pasted away. Cool Hand Luke is my favorite films and one of Newman’s best. Let’s take some time and remember one of the greatest screen actors of all-time.

Eeek. How embarrasing (I’ve never seen it).

Paul Newman is one of my favorite actors of all time. Cool Hand Luke is definately one of my favorites - all time favorite though is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof…mostly I think because it was the first time I’d ever seen him as a young man.

I’m sad that he’s gone but I think he had a wonderful like and was a great person - may he rest in peace.

What…we’ve got here is…a FAILURE…to communicate. You see some men, you just can’t reach. I don’t like this…anymore than you do…

This is unacceptable. I command you, sir, to go out and rent it as soon as possible. GO!!! Be gone from my site!! (if you could see me, you’d see me pointing away emphatically).

What she means is…you must join the frak party!

Just a reminder for everyone.

Cool Hand Luke Frak Party tonight @ 10PM ET

Cuz Sometimes nothing can be a pretty cool hand.

By your Command vvv vvvv (actually I just sent the last disk of HBO’s John Adams back to Netfix today, so my queue is ready for some Paul Neuman.)

I just got mine from Netflix about an hour ago. I’ve never seen the whole thing, so this should be fun.

I just finished watching ‘John Adams’ last night. Whaddya think of it? I thot it was pretty well done, a few historical mistakes (not that I’m an expert or anything but I can read Wikipedia). They did the sickness bits real well. I was grossed out by the inoculation scene, when Adams was in Europe hacking up a lung, and when Abigal had a breast cancer operation.

My favorite part was when 90 year old Adams is invited to see the painting of the ‘Declaration signing’. He pisses all over it. Gotta luv when an old guy gives a smack down.

Ooooo Poofy! You in for a treat.

You’re kidding me? You just finished watching John Adams last night too?
I swear to gods my friend, sometimes I think you and I are the same person.

I thot it was a fantastic series. I really enjoyed the book too. I agree, so much realism and autenticity in every scene and in those sickness scences especially. Can you imagine doctors doing a mastectomy with no real anethesia, no sterialization. And it would be 40 years before there was even a such thing as a female doctor.

That scene with the 90 year old Adams taking the artist of that famous “Declaration” painting was excellent. I agree. And it was a scene that was totally EARNED.
My favorite scene is when the Continental Congress finally finishes voted to declare Independence and the look and everyone’s face in the room is like “Oh Frak–We’ve done it now.” It was a ballsy, scary thing to Declare independence and by doing be forced to fight a war against the Superpower of that age: Britain.
I also thot George Washington’s inaguration scene was incredible. The looks on everyones faces were like “Woah, this has never been done before and it’s pretty damn cool!”

Great stuff. And I recommend it to everyone !!!

So, the deate isn’t a problem?

What’s wrong with the deate?

Nothing’s wrong with the deate.

I was actually worried about the DEBATE.

Ah, carry on.

That might explain why the two of you are so often confused. Although that would mean you have almost 7000 posts! So how do you manage that with bigamous double life, not to mention the NYC-NE commute?

This might help.

Haven’t you ever manipulated the universe on a sub-atomic level? Get with the program.

My particle accelerator is on the fritz. It’s really limiting my control of time and space. :frowning:

This is actually a pretty great debate. It might even rank up there with Nixon/Kennedy.

You know, except with the part where McCain is winning on radio. :stuck_out_tongue:

there was a debate tonight? I was busy watching…

Leanne won Project Runway! Yeah that’s right me watched it.
