Yes indeed. And yet, after pying $2200 of someone else’s money to fix both of our cars (ouch!) part of me feels like I need to go out and get a “real” job.
I remember summer in St. Louis. There’s a reason I loved those fountains near the roses at Shaw’s Garden as a kid.
re: hot drinks. I might be misinformed, but is it in Russia where they drink cold beverages when it is cold outside, and warm beverages when it is warm outside? I think the rationale had something to do with keeping your body temperature closer to the ambient temperature? Yeah, I might be wrong. But for some reason, I was thinking that.
I still get hot drinks because I get them early enough in the morning that it’s not hot out yet. That, and I get weird looks if I ask for something iced in my traveler cup.
Had a pretty cool day. I hiked, and I mean hiked, some rugged Adirondack land. Caught five brook trout that were 13 inches. They are a native species that usually don’t grow that big, so this was impressive, but don’t feel bad for the fish. This remote pond is loaded with trout. The other cool thing was that I think I was the first person to visit this land in years. I am going to cook them up on Sunday with bacon, eggs, hash browns, blackberry pancakes, and sausage, since I usually stop in, and cook breakfast for my father on Sunday, and it is father’s day.
Also, in Vermont, we used to have moose, but they were driven, hunted, and pushed out. The last ten years, they have been coming back, and in limited cases, the state will let people hunt them on a lottery system since they are starting to come back in a big way, and to many is a strain on the habitat. Today, I got within 25 yards of one while walking back to my truck after fishing. We stared at each other for eight minutes before she gracefully, and surprisingly, considering the size, silently, walked off. It was very cool.
I know this is a SCI-FI style forum, but still, it was a pretty cool day. Vacations are awesome.
Is anyone doing anything cool for father’s day?
My dad, step-dad, dad-in-law, dad-like uncle are coming over for BBQ and good eats. Should be crazy and fun. 15 people and mayhem, yipee!
I got a new iPhone today…geek heaven
Gee thanks for making my 2G iPhone seem even more obsolete …
JK! Congratulations!
THAT is a cool day. And a cool Father’s Day. Thanks for sharing, Lucky.
Just rebuilt my DVD player to run disks from any region, 3 hours work and less than £10 in parts.
While I am happy with this, I can’t help but feel that I REALLY need a boyfriend!
Excellent! Now you can move around without busting into flames. Win!
We got a House!!!
It’s very nice, with a nice river behind it and a smallish lawn that will not require too much mowing.
No A/C but we live within walking distance of not one, but two ice-cream stands. 15 minute walks to burn 'em off. To further reduce the temptation, one of the wife’s co-workers gave us a window unit.
Hey don’t have iPhone envy…your even cooler because your an early adopter of technology!
That’s what I’ll be telling myself for the next two months…
We have those too.
Moose meet Lucky, Lucky meet Lady Moose. I am glad you were fishing and not hunting.
There is many a man that would love help with making their DVD players run all disks. Who knows what that may get to.
It went down for a few hours till someone came to fix it. The guy who put it together did not snap some wires together correctly. I was really freeked out over a 5 minute fix.
We are having a heat wave. It is midnight and it is still over 80 degrees. We may hit as high as 98 that will feel more like 110 degrees. 15 minute walk in Florida can at times be deadly. The ice cream sounds good.
May the house only give you joy.
Wow all such good news. I hope it will continue.
I was awakened this morning by my kids giving me lovely, home made cards and now I get breakfast. Sweet!
Awww, how cute!
P.S. Thanks for reminding me it’s Father’s Day
