Yeah - I suck at those. I watch the shows but I find that if I try to post and watch the episode at the same time, I get way to involved in posting and I don’t get to watch the show. I know, I suck at multi-tasking!
TSO rocks! DH and I went to see them two years in a row! They put on such a fantastic show! No TSO for us this year though. Too poor. We’ll enjoy the heck out of our TSO music collection though!
Yea, If they were not coming to Tallahassee this year i would totally have missed them. But i do listen to them every year and most Christmas eve’s i watch my TSO DVD
Remember how I said I’d met Matt Groening? Well, here’s the photographic proof:
Alas, I didn’t get an original sketch. He was only offering those to kids (my nephew got one). This was not at a signing. He was just doing it while waiting for the elevator. It was very sweet of him.
SWEET!!! You’re a lucky guy Armando!
Frak me! That is awesome! Congrats, Armando–you must have been grinning from ear to ear!
It was pretty sweet. Particularly considering this wasn’t a signing. He was just waiting for the elevator, talking to a couple of people and doing a sketch for a little girl. We came out of the elevator and noticed, “hey! That’s Matt Groening.” I think the fact that I was there as an author/presenter helped break the ice a little bit, though I was a bit fan-boyish (mentioned how much I loved Futurama, instead of the Simpsons. I love both, but I think I like Futurama better these days). The guy struck me as a class act, though. Very generous and nice.
I believed you even with out the picture proof. So are you bigger than your nephew? You could arm wrestle for the picture.
I have a new driver’s license, and so does spouse Though duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude there were too many hurdles and annoyances to name… but in the end, we both have those silly little cards.
I needed a dress and went to the shops and found three in my size that I loved, and they were all 25% off! That never happens to me when I need to buy something. I usually shop for four hours and get cranky because I either can’t find anything I like, it’s not in my size, or it’s too expensive. Yay!
Closing on mortgage refinance tonite: shorter term, lower interest rate, all goooood !! Yup, financially responsible adult here !
(Already planning on using extra cash to buy big Galactica model at local store, bwa ha ha…shh, don’t tell the XO. )
Frak’ing Cool. Frak’ing Cool.

So as i mentioned earlier i was getting to see TSO.
Words can not explain how awesome that show is. As a lighting guy who has done lights for concerts professionally it was so awesome. Moving Truss. Lasers. Flame Spouts. CO2 jets. Musicians flying in on platforms.
And the music. We got to hear some new songs for their new CD. Its gonna have some of Mozart’s Requiem which is amazing played metal style. They played in a two section format. The first one of their typical Christmas Stories. Then the second half was just full on rockin’ out. The singer girls sounded great and were oh so hot dancing throwing their hair around. The “master of stings” the electric violin player is amazing and a babe and rocked out on the seats 3 rows in front of me.
I had great seats 15 rows back and 10 seats off of center. I was watching with mouth agape the entire time.
I got an “A” on the last unit of my on line course I am taking.
I think I just finished the “symphony” I’ve been working on since August (though the last movement may be too long…). Now I need a good title/subtitle.
The I’m Finished Symphony
I have my first paying gig as a freelancer at my local PBS station next week.
(Sorry, that wasn’t a symphony title suggestion.)
Pshaw. Just say it was. It’ll confound critics for years to come.
