Continuity break??? What the Frak???

It has been established that Tigh served in the fleet during the first Cylon war. He tells Roslin on New Caprica that he has send men on suicide missions “in two war now.” A younger Tigh and Adama talk in a non-canon deleted scene about had to hand combat against the Cylon Centurions and how they have a certain smell. Tigh in Razor makes a comment about having not seeing an old style Centurion outside a museum in years, and so forth. The list goes on. In fact we he gets back into the fleet (when William Adama in now a Major, having gotten back into the fleet as a Captain) he get a Captain’s Commission. One can assume then he was in the fleet before then, and not just with false memories. That he would have a service record.

Now this all seems to have been changed. That now he was “set up like a boomer,” and stopped the first war. Has this been explained away or is this a fraking huge continuity break?

I don’t think it is a break in continuity. They introduce him after the first war with the memories embedded (like Boomer remembered her family or Sam remembered going to school on Picon). He meets Adama and they bond over each others war stories.
