Yes, one of the worst-kept secrets in history has now been confirmed. BioWare is working on another Knights of the Old Republic game… and it will be an MMO.

OK, I played Star Wars: Galaxies from launch until about a month after the NGE went live. I loved both of the KOTOR games. But, I’m not sure I want to see another Star Wars MMO because I’m not sure I want to play a game where just about everyone is a Jedi.

It’s one thing when the Jedi are few and far between, it’s another when it’s hard to find anyone on the planet who isn’t a Jedi, and I’m afraid that is the way the game will turn out. Any thoughts?

I read this last night. I’m not happy at all. Some people don’t like to pay to play a game on a month by month basis. I wish they would make an KOTOR 3 game proper to finish the story in the original games. We never found out what happened to Darth Revan.

Meh… I dunno. I probably won’t play it (I’m not an MMO player). The interesting part of this was that I had though Bioware was going to focus on original IPs from now on, and had moved on from the Star Wars stuff. I’m interested to see how this will turn out.

And remember, calling this KOTOR III is probably not a good way to go. This is probably more “Star Wars Galaxies 2”, and effort to revive the Star Wars MMO then to continue the story of KOTOR.

What I found last night was that there was a domain hold on the Name SW:The Old Rebublic. There was a news item on theforce.net, but then they received a cease and deceit order from LFL for the story. There was also a hold for the domain SW:Leacy and another name I can’t remember.

is there not 2 kotor games coming out within a year?, one a mmo and one to finish the story. maybe i heard wrong…

That’s what everyone is in the dark about. The MMO has been rumored for a while. I’m holding out hope for KOTOR 3.

SWG is being revived in a project called SWGEmu for those of you who used to play the game and yearn to play what was once great (i’m an active member of the community there :slight_smile: )

If we were going to get a KOTOR3, I think it would come from Obsidian, not Bioware (although I suppose they could make it). I dunno. The MMO doesn’t rule out a sequel, it just means that the franchise is getting more attention.
