here is a great show that was canceled far too soon. from the same people who brought us Scrubs comes an animated series about a high school in America populated by teenage clones of historical figures. main characters are Abe Lincoln (“a really cool guy, who happens to be honest”), Ghandi (“nonstop party machine”), Joan of Arc (“angst-ridden goth girl”), JFK (“macho womanizing stud”), Cleopatra (no cleverly descriptive quote springs to mind, but she’s the most popular girl in school), and Principal Cinnamon J Scudworth (sort of a cross between Dr. Horrible and Richard T Belding) and his mechanical British servant, Mr. Butlertron. also, Andy Dick’s least-annoying role ever as Mr. Sheepman, one of the clone students’ teachers and the first mostly-human clone (“they spliced a little sheep DNA in there. Which is fine…”). Abandoned Pools provided the theme song, which, much like “The Ballad of Serenity,” tells the story of the show and will get stuck in your head for days.
“Way way back in the 1980s
Secret government employees
Dug up famous guys and ladies
And made amusing genetic copies”
the only real flaw is that the show was canceled after only one season, and it ends on an enormous cliffhanger. on the plus side, the final two episodes feature John Stamos, “the hazel-eyed hunk from Full House.” and he’s, you know, STAMOS! so how can you go wrong? regardless of whether this gets done as an arc, everyone should check it out. to the max.
