Clash of the Titans

Just got back from seeing the movie. I thought it was pretty good overall. Loved the brief homage to the 1981 version since I hadn’t read anything on the web about it I didn’t expect that. Cracked me up and I had to explain to my sister why I was laughing…

3d or not 3d?

Non 3D, since the 3D was added afterwards I figured it would be craaaap.

and you would have been correct–saw the 3D…meh at best

I chose wisely.

At least one reviewer took off his glasses during the 3D show and thought it was better despite the slight bluriness.

its people doing that kinda stuff that is going to ruin 3d.
DO OR DO NOT, THERE IS NO TRY!
james cameron says to properly convert Titanic to 3d is going to take over a year. so it can be done. sounds like someone just wanted to ride Avatar’s coat tails for some extra box office cash.
i hear george lucas is going to convert all the star wars movies to 3d. im sure some are rolling there eyes at the thought, but if it is done right, i CANT WAIT to see the death star trench in 3d!

back to Clash of the Titans… was the Kraken as awesome as it looked on the previews?

That’s exacTly what they did. After seeing the success of Avatar 3D and the other 3D films in the last year they decided to jump on that wagon for some extra bucks after it had already been filmed 2D.

I don’t want to see Star Wars in 3D. Lucas has enough of my money in his pockets now. Besides the 3D effects won’t be as good as if it had been filmed for it originally.

The Kraken looked good, but most of his destruction is caused by his tails. Best shot of it you saw in the trailer. The head/face reminds me of the Cave Troll from LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring. I like the Kraken from the 1981 movie better.

Now Sam Worthington looked as awesome as he looked in the trailers. Eye Candy for the ladies…

Did anyone else think that Sam Worthington has skinny little chicken legs, or is it just me? Also, there were quite a few glimpses of side under-butt, which was fine with me. I’m not gonna lie, he’s not a bad looking guy, if not exactly to my tastes.

I was a little sad that we had Io instead of Athena in this one. Also, I was kind of creeped out by
At the end, Zeus is all, “Hey, I feel bad about nearly getting you killed, so I’m going to give you back your old girlfriend that I almost raped like a hundred years ago and who I’ve been punishing for not getting raped ever since.”
I mean, nobody ever said he’s the nicest guy–and mythology pretty much proves consistently that he’s not–but it skeeved me out

Oh, and the giant scorpions? Not so great if you’re scorpion-phobic. I had to watch most of the scenes where they were on through gaps in my fingers. Not a bad movie otherwise, though. Great popcorn flick, great way to spend a Friday night even if my husband decided it would have been better with Kratos in there. (He kept screaming ZEUUUUUUS for the rest of the night. My husband is silly.) And hey, I’m looking at IMDB and Andromeda was Gwen from Angel: The Series!

ALSO. Mads Mikkelsen = awesomeness supreme.

Yes, Sam Worthington has chicken legs…I though in Avatar that they used someone else’s legs when he was in the chair they were so thin…obviously not!

Zeus is a skeevy old God.

Mads Mikkelsen is awesome. At first I (and my sister & brother-in-law) thought that was The Rock…resemblance through the forehead/eyes area is uncanny.

Indeed–Cavil could learn a thing or two over half the stuff that Zeus pulled…stuff he did was just wrong…
