For reals

Chuck is Bruce Lee.

No not Neo, Those moves were from ‘Enter the Dragon’.

Mmmm. Upgrades.

To be continued another season?

I miss Chuck already. I’m gonna be totally pissed if they deny a third season. Seriously.

I had to explain to my wife the significance of, “I know Kung-fu” and broke out the only impression I can do, Keanu. (well, I can also do Animal, but anyone can do that).

They CAN’T cancel it now…

Chuck was truly Awesome last night

Yes it was. They did something very interesting from a show planning and budgetary standpoint: They have built into the plot that if necessary they can make a significant chop in cast size and locations. If they stay true to Chuck leaving the Buy More they have eliminated that set completely and all the supporting cast (Big Mike, Lester, Jeff, Anna, Emmett plus all the nameless lineless background workers), they have the option of sending Morgan to Hawaii and if Chuck is now a super agent there is a very real plot reason to hide him from Ellie and Awesome.

Basically, if they want when they are sitting across the negotiation table they can basically say,

“The show costs money and has been getting good ratings. There is a solid following and people are finding it every day. Give us 12 more episodes and we can lower the total cost while retaining the core cast focusing on more “spy” type missions”

I think it is quite a clever setup they have given themselves from a business standpoint.

Well, so far I seem to be the only one who didn’t like this ending. I really wish they had ended it on the previous episode, right before you see that the Fulcrum dude had survived. At that point, Chuck has the intersect removed and would be free to live his life (i.e. the PRIMARY GOAL of the series’ protagonist), he gets the girl, Casey gets promoted, Morgan grows up, Chuck’s father is able to go to the wedding, nice clean ending.

Tell me, why is it that a story cannot last two seasons, have a nice clean story arc and wrap up positively? If they cancel the show now, they leave loose plot threads. If they continue, the Buy More is gone (along with all the employee characters), Morgan is gone, newly married Mr. and Mrs. Awesome will never be safe, and Chuck! Well, he’s now apparently Neo. It is less conceivable that the Intersect could give him the ability to kick <sorrybarb> the way he does at the end; are we to believe that strength is purely in the mind, not the muscle? Sure, the original premise was a bit farfetched, but this is much less believable.

I think the finale pushed me past that point where I can suspend my disbelief based on the original premise of the series.

Too bad.

P.S. And yes, I realize it’s all about the network making money off the series. It just annoys me.

P.P.S. Please, someone counter this argument and renew my faith in the show :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude.

It’s not all about the network and making money. This type of analysis always seems to pop up, but in truth this was a very valid story choice by the show’s writers and producers. You just didn’t like it.

Relax! There’s nothing wrong with that, and it’s not going to piss of me or anyone else who still love the show. Sometimes a show’s direction just doesn’t gel for one’s particular tastes. I, for example, haven’t really enjoyed Heroes that much since the first season. That doesn’t mean it’s sell out crap. It just means that for whatever reason the show doesn’t work for me. (Funny: In season three it’s been really true to the comic story ideal, and I love that direction in comic books. Maybe it’s just me.)

But to address your points:

I’m glad they didn’t wrap the show up completely. There’s an excellent chance Chuck will be back for a third season, so it makes no sense to just shut it off. I think there’s plenty of room for a show to run for a fixed time. It’s worked wonders for the British LoM and will do the same for Ashes to Ashes. I think there’s plenty of space for this here, too, and if I were smart/skilled/driven enough to be a creative lead for a show, that’s the direction I’d take. (But I’m a bum with a podcast, so hey.) Chuck’s just not that show.

I love the Buy More. Hell, I have a full costume. I love the role that the retail/support guys have played up to this point. I could stand to see more Buy More, too. But if the writer’s room is tired of it, I’m ready to see what they have in store. (Heh. Punny.) There’s plenty of room for new direction in S3, so I don’t mind seeing the Buy More move on (if it indeed does). Truly I’ll miss Morgan the most if he doesn’t return. But I suspect he will.

As far as believability, c’mon. As you said yourself, if you’re willing to buy into the fact that a constantly updated intersect can somehow transfer into a dude’s head making it a computer, too just by watching 30 seconds of some pictures, well, this isn’t a stretch. Personally, I think the writers are going to have a blast with this. Chuck’s “flashes” no longer bring access to some documents, but rather deliver some skill or knowledge he needs. The humorous and entertaining possibilities are endless.

Anyway, my main message here is don’t sweat it. You didn’t enjoy it. That’s cool.
