New contest: Best Delorean driven by Larry.

Hold on, dude, that doesn’t look quite right…

There, that’s better.

How about this nice concept for a flying car from Audi?

My current daily driver… at least until winter sets in…

My former daily driver and soon to be winter car if I can ever get the poor thing put back together…

My old project, sadly gone now…

My dream project…

awesome Mustang

back in February I bought a used 05 F-150 with 73k miles on it…I freaking love it

picture is from about the second day I had it and still had temp plates

I’m 6’2 so I’m loving the leg room in it, I had a little tiny Saturn SL2 before that…but I was also driving 31 miles one way to work when I had that, I transferred and moved in December of last year and now I drive 7 miles one way  I only have to fill the gas tank once a month

also looking to maybe work with my dad and take his 82 Trans Am convertible and restore it, the engine will runs but it needs a new gas tank, tires, and a new paint job

Just came across this thread.

I had a car that I sold years and years ago.
And I still grieve the loss.

This is what she looked like.
What a blast to drive !

You have no idea how I feel your pain when it comes to the dreaded Lucas electrics, AKA the prince of darkness! I have a 1989 Range Rover that I thought would be a “nice project vehicle.” I just didn’t realize that project = painful! The princess is currently in the shop having a new distributor installed because the old one had a broken shaft. How does one “break” a distributor shaft? And the weirdest thing is with all that pain and suffering, I still love that damn thing.

I think I need to lay down for awhile, my head hurts…

Someone once told me that the only products Lucas makes that don’t suck are their line of vacuum cleaners.

On the subject of Miatas, I’ve been dreaming of having one with a turbo charged 13B (rotary) engine. It seemed to me like this would be a fantastic combination!

…then I googled and found out that lots of other people had the same idea and have been making the conversions. The power to weight ratio is fantastic, it must be a kick to drive.

8.7 second quarter mile, crikey! You know your Miata has an appropriate amount of power when it needs a wheelie bar.

Now, to turn things around a little, let’s combine rotary engines with the DeLorean part of the thread and make something wonderful:

http://www.eliseusa.com/rotary.htm

A DMC with the gutless engine replaced by a… Mazda 20B (THREE rotor, versus the RX-7’s 2 rotors) Wankel engine + twin turbos.

Finally, an appropriately futuristic engine for this sweet ride.

Back in the 80’s I had a 56 porche speedster replicar that looked like this one.

execpt mine had fender flares that really made it look Bad A_ _.

Sadly no pictures of my actual car survive from that time…:frowning:

So it was a VW with a new body… it was still cool to drive.

Suuweet !!

I really want one of these.

Car geeks will probably appreciate this article from io9.
