so did any1 else see how cozy caprica 6 got with hera… and as soon as she saw her??? that creepd me the frak out… but athena didnt seem to notice… i wonder how the prophecy of 6,baltar, n hera leavin will play out
She was just going into mother mode because Athena told her to be more careful what she was saying in front of Hera. Though nothing much seems to affect that kid anyway.
i def. get the mother mode aspect, but i think that look n her actions lingerd a bit too much… could be wrong though
I actually thought Caprica was more worried about the future of her own child, and Hera was kind of an afterthought. It’s not like she was playing with her the whole scene or anything. And I don’t think her face lit up the way Natalie’s did when she saw her in the hallway.
But hey, I think it’s Head Six who actually picks Hera up in the visions.
but dont we know that its caprica 6 in the visions because in crossroads athena and roslin visited caprica 6 in the brig, and cap. 6 revealed that she was having the visions with them. so now we have the right six going after hera and athena doesnt do anything. figures.
Isn’t the REALLY BIG question what Hera makes of 6 - any 6? Her “coloring book” and all the 6’s has to be HUGE (and put me off my food for a couple of days, it was so upsetting).
ladies and gents again OT points out th ellephant in the room… i forgot about the coloring book…
bows in reverancce
Having firmly established himself as a Master of the Obvious - OT was compelled to ask - “What the frak does it all mean?”
I thought so too but if you remember the opera house stuff back on Kobol that was pretty clearly Head Six. I think it’s supposed to be ambiguous… which is why I like to think it’s her
I’m sensing a Greek tragedy vibe from the whole Opera House/Hera situation. It seems like Athena is trying really hard to keep it from happening, but I have a very bad feeling that her attempts to thwart whatever it is from happening will end up causing it.
I got an Opera house moment with the scene in the cell between Caprica and Hera. The characters were probably too distraught to take into consideration their dreams, but I dont think it was an accident showing Caprica holding Hera.
I have a wild speculation.
What if the dream is really meant to be on Galactica with Roslin, Athena & Caprica trying to save Hera from the mutineers, and Caprica just manages to find her first and the doorway is really a door to a Raptor or something.
Just a thought.
She was freaked out before that the 6 would take her daughter.
But in this situation she would probably give her up is she knew the 6th could get her daughter out of the ship. Especially with that raping psycho around. You know the 6th would never hurt the child and would do anything to see it safe.
It’s a different set of circumstance than before.
Hera’s Fate:
IF we are to assume that in order for the Cylon species to propagate, wouldn’t Hera need a male counterpart roughly her age in for the purposes of future reproduction?
Does this means Caprica 6 would have to give birth to that cylon baby boy in order for the species to exist in its true cylon form?
This could be symbolic of the rebirth of Tigh and Ellen…
Just a thought.
Thanks for reading.
True, but any other Cylon/human pairing would do as long as sufficient “love” was present to aid conception. If it’s one thing we know it’s that Cylon’s have to be in love to conceive. (unfortunately, we humans don’t)
Speaking of Hera’s book…I always found it strange that she drew lots of pictures of Head 6 specifically, red dress and all. Somehow Hera is getting in Baltar’s head.
The first part is true but othersise it would not be Cylon thorobread but a cylon human mix.
Would you say Hera is getting into the heads of Roslin, 6, Athena as well?
Or anyone who has the visions of the Operat House?
Thanks for reading
Some time ago (ref needed) I made a note that I did not think that the ‘kids’ were as important as had been made out. In particular, I was dubious about Nicky. Well, this has been proved correct.
Now… For Hera…
Are we sure, absolutely one hundred percent certain, that Hera is genetically Sharon and Helo’s child? Has Cottle done any tests?
Why would the Cylons have been all gooey and fawning over Hera for so long if she was just the offspring of a Cylon and a human? That never really felt all that special to me.
Now… consider this. Sharon ‘disappeared’ a number of times on Caprica while supposedly on the lam with Helo. And, at first, she was part of a plan; a plan to ‘fall in love’ to experience some humanity. The Six and Doral (was it?) who were tracking Sharon and Helo’s escapes and adventures were interested in Sharon’s responses and reactions. Especially regarding the emotions and the sex with Helo.
Further, we know there were breeding facilities on Caprica. Hell, Kara had an ovary ripped out. Is it completely implausible that perhaps Sharon was implanted, in vitro, and this was part of their ‘plan’ at the time? And what genetic material did the Cylons have on hand?
Well, obviously, their own, for a start. Baltar’s. (As he was blowed up in a nuclear explosion, and miraculously came back to escape with barely a scratch. And we know of only Cylon technology which is capable of resurrection like that.) Starbuck’s. Maybe some others… Anders?
Anyway, what if the Sharon (perhaps unbeknown to her herself even) was implanted with a successful Six-Baltar embryo? The experiment to continue to see how Cylons react to love, motherhood and that whole stuff.
Baltar, being a resurrected human/Cylon/whatever, has some proto-memories of this plan (just like Kara 2.0 does of ‘Earth’, etc, when she ‘comes back’, and just like the awakening memories of the FF too), and in his disturbed, unstable psychological state, wherein he creates his own ‘Head Six’ character, expresses this knowledge of the baby and its importance.
This explains much, but not all. It explains why Hera is so important - because they at last were successful in creating a baby. It furthers the Cylon desperation to become more ‘human’, exploring ‘love’, etc. Hera regards Six as her mommy due to Cylon-Cylon ‘connection’ of some kind, similar to downloading. (Not a great leap in either concept or technology.)
As I have said before about Hera: in and of herself, she does not matter any more than anyone else. She’s not going to grow into Xena, or Boudicca, and unite the universe. Nor is she going to exhibit superpowers, nor is she the Final Cylon, nor is she a god. Sigh. But what she represents, what she means for the Cylons is important. They have cracked the ‘natural’, ‘normal’ sexual method of reproduction, removing the unhealthy (and now destroyed) reliance on their technology.
Interesting post…
What if on the other hand Hera is special because somehow, (don’t know how) her specialness makes her the manipulating force behind everything going on…maybe somehow she can project as she is the common thread in the Opera House visions everyone involved in those visions has.
At the end of it all, Hera somehow seems to be the single most important factor of the story.
Thanks for reading .
Because she’s a frakking ghoul. Hera creeps me out big time.
Yeah, I think you’re right. I think that wheels are turning in her little head faster than we can detect. I wonder what will happen with this-- I really don’t know.
