I voted for Buffy cuz of the supernatural strength.
…that said, River might be able to kick more ass. Because she’s smart enough to flirt. Which will render most guys useless. And many ladies.

This deathmatch occurred to me Saturday having watched a little more than two seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
If I could vote I would go with Buffy for these reasons:
- More years of fighting experience and training.
- Buffy can take a horribly serious beating and keep going, haven’t seen River do this. That might just be a result of a fourteen-episode series though.
- Mental fortitude goes to Buffy as well, even discounting River’s obvious issues Buffy has been exposed to so much more torment at the hands of her enemies she probably has quite a callous on her frontal lobe.
- Witty fight banter points go to Buffy, and we all know that snide comments go pretty far in wearing down your enemy’s resolve in a hand-to-hand battle. The only thing I see coming out of River’s mouth during a fight is “Ice cream! Muffler! You scratch my back and I’ll fly to the moooooooon! I like rice! Eat six mice!”.
I’m going to give a point to River because she’s more bloodthirsty than Buffy. River is a human killer, whereas Buffy tries to avoid killing humans if at all possible. I realize that if the girl can drive a sword through the love of her life she can and will kill this b!tch, but Buffy will risk losing the fight to not kill River. River will lead with a kill-attempt.
Also, doesn’t Buffy end up killing Faith at some point? Stake right in the heart? Haven’t got that far yet but I seem to remember seeing that when it was originally airing.
I have to give this one to River on 2 points. First River has psychic abilities and Buffy is a pretty predicable fighter. Second and most important River uses fire arms. Given River’s reflexes, I don’t think Buffy’s speed would be able to out run a bullet.
