I think the more valuable books were kept in there…the Sunnydale’s Gutenberg Bibles, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Magna Carta, etc.
So… how did they explain away to the gullible masses the principle getting eaten alive by the students in his own office? Even by Sunnydale standards, that’s gotta be hard to gloss over.
Lesson learned. He never does that, ever again, after this episode.

Actually, they don’t really gloss it over. The next principal references it at least once. I’m sure most of the specifics are left out, of course.
You know, I always wondered what happened the non-Xander members of the Pack. I mean, sure, they’re “troubled” teens and all, but I doubt that they’d ever resort to cannibalism left to their own devices. And with Giles revealing that the possessed remember their experience, one wonders just how screwed up these poor kids are afterward.

Well, I can’t really feel bad for them, they were kind of jackasses even before they were hyenas. I’d like to think they are locked up in a nuthouse for the rest of their lives.
Except the hot blond one. She needs to be rehabilitated. By me.
