BSG On 24

I know I a few of us are Keifer Sutherland fans here. Well with the new season of 24 we are now continuing the long held practice of BSG cross employment.

Let me explain. Before the season started I knew that Katee Sackhoff was going to be a major character in the show this round. Tonight I was watching and the play going on is moving to the Russian mob. That in and of itself was not surprising. As the were going thru the people that the deep undercover knew. Who shows up but Starbucks old Flame. No not talking about Apollo or his brother. Its LEOBEN!

My next question is this who else from this show is going to pop in to. And who said the skin jobs wouldn’t survive.

I was thrilled to see Mr. Sark (from Alias) and Leoben in Monday night’s episodes. I’m not at all pleased with Katee Sackhoff’s role though.

Don’t you always expect David Anders to talk with a British accent now? It’s so strange when he talks in his normal Oregon voice.

Also, Mark “Romo” Sheppard was on a previous season of 24 as a character named Yellow Tie. He said it was a really unpleasant experience so don’t bring it up if you ever meet him. Meanwhile, Caprica Six and Doc Cottle showed up for the premiere episode of Human Target. They’re everywhere!

Also also, we got a “pen to the throat” moment in last night’s episode! Granted, Farhad has better aim than Butterfingers Gaeta.

I swear they must all be in the same calling circle. One gets on a show then BAM they get ahold of anyone not working on a show at the time.

Not that i’m complaining. I’d watch Tricia Helfer read the yellow pages, clothing optional please.

is Leoben still creeping out the generation or is Callum Keith Rennie’s character a bit more endearing this time around?

So far we’ve only seen his character in photos but he was in the preview for next week. Given that he’s playing a Russian mobster trying to purchase nuclear material, I’m guessing he won’t be cute and cuddly.

Not that it matters to me 'cause I find CKR endearing even when he’s a sociopath.

I know what you mean. Starbuck is a tough act to follow, but I’m interested to see where they’re going with her character. The plot is similar to when Kat’s past showed up threatening to make trouble. I loved the competitive/ sister like relationship between her and Kara.

If anyone else was going crazy trying to remember where they saw that Russian assassin before, I will ease your pain. It’s Horace Goodspeed from Lost.

It’s also Eugene Tooms from The X-Files. One of the creepiest villains ever.

I hope Starbuck’s storyline gets better 'cause watching her not head-butt that redneck like he deserves is already getting old. I hate to see someone who shares my surname be all submissive.

That’s where I know him from. You are right, creepy to the nth power!

Amen! I know she’s trying to break out & do other roles than the kick-ass girl, but I just can’t/won’t accept Katee as the door-mat type.

I don’t see her character as submissive or a door mat, I can still see that fire in her eyes. We’re only a few episodes in with someone who’s not just dealing with a redneck, but with her past and her own insecurities. It’s all about the journey…granted I hope some where along that journey she saws off his hands or…rips out his carteroid artery with her teeth.

Of course, he’s still obsessed with Starbuck. Maybe Leobruski will kick the ass of that other guy who’s muscling in one Katie…

So, worth checking in just to see Starbuck and Leoben? I haven’t been watching 24 in a long while.

The thing is, I hear what you’re saying, but so far we’ve seen this story line too many times to count & we know exactly where it leads. With Kat we already knew the character & they actually gave it an interesting twist. So far I’m not having much faith they can pull that kind of thing off. It’s all very cliche’ so far. I hope I’m wrong.

It really comes down to how long they let this go on. This piece of excrement will all to soon realize he should have just left well enough alone. Key, body falling (intentionally) out of tall balcony.

Agreed, Aset. It’s like Agent Samwise and his junkie brother who stole his CTU badge. If Starbuck’s ex ends up connected with “The Russians,” I call shenanigans. And no woman with any sense would give her house key to said abusive ex; I don’t care how many times he whispers in a threatening tone that he’s going to reveal her past. Believe me, the HR department at CTU has seen worse. But no, we’ll have to have Starbuck go through an emotional reveal to Freddie Prinze Jr., him shouting that he can’t trust her and the engagement is over, and then redemption as he or she nearly dies. I’m bettin’ a quarter on it.

I think so, coco. At least it’s a change of scenery from LA to NYC, and I’m loving having Agent Renee back. Starbuck is featured alot so far in CTU scenes but we’ve yet to see how big a role Leoben will play.
