Browers hjacker

So recently I have noticed a program that has hijacked my browsers home page and search bars. It’s called Snap.do. I have tried to look everywhere for how to uninstall it. Even checking other forums (Gasp) nothing seems to work for me. So if anyone knows anything about this pesky little program please let me know. I have windows 8 and using firefox and IE.

a quick google brought up https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/937498" this which seems to apply to firefox, you could try that.

In general if runnign windows I’d suggest you also run Avast A/V and spybot seaqrch and destroy, doing full scans with both at least once a week.

Geeks to Go Forum should be of use to you with this: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/forum/37-virus-spyware-malware-removal/

You can search on there to find a thread where someone is using the same OS/Browser combo and see what instructions they are given to clean their system. I’ve used this one a few times when I needed to get craaaap off my system.

I don’t know anything about this specific problem, but I would recommend Malware Bytes as a good antivirus program, specifically for getting out existing infections. Worth a shot:
