I got my wife the Seasons 2 & 3 Dvd’s of Boston Legal. It’s written by the same guy of it’s predecessor show, The Practice.
Unlike most other spin-off shows that claim to be different from the previous one; Boston Legal is an actual 180 degree turn from The Practice. Unlike the serious unload-the-drama and hard-driving show The Practice, Boston Legal is irrevent, funny, constantly breaking 4th & 5th walls (just read the wiki link and you’ll understand)
I’m now watching episode 203 Finding Nimmo. I get a kick out of the fact that the two main leads are William Shatner and James Spader (from Star Trek and the original Stargate movies respectively). In this episode they escape to British Columbia to fish and help James Spader’s character, Alan Shore, forget his breakup with the hot, eye-candy Tara (Rhona Mitra). They encounter a Canadian environmental lawyer who tells them about the sea lice from the fish farms that are killing off the salmon. Anyway, Alan Shore later on reads a book about sea lice - Alan says the sea lice are referred to as “cling ons”; to which William Shatner says, “Klingons?” (heheh…that’s breaking the 5th wall for you)
I encourage those of you who enjoy a good-comedic-lawyer-show-that-stars-former-science-fiction-actors to watch this!
