Boomer-The new Tory *SPOILERS*

Boomer is indeed Evil. EVIL!! Holy Crap, I couldn’t believe it. I don’t think I even feel this strongly about Cavil.

And yes, the Chief is screwed. I wrote this elsewhere, but I want to point out again the list of women the Chief’s been with:- Cally, who killed Boomer and let him raise a child that’s not his, Tory, who killed Cally, and Boomer, who never fails to betray, and has kidnapped a child and frakked Helo.

I’d say that’ll mess up whatever relationships the Chief plans to have in the future.

Maybe he should hook up with Tory again…

I really don’t think our beloved Chief has much of a future. I think he will die soon. I am very sad indeed.

I guess Cally doesn’t smell so bad to him now.

Maybe he’ll reconsider what his relationship with her was worth.

Maybe y’all can help since I haven’t rewatched the episode. But I thought Boomer’s raptor crashed into Galactica during its jump.

But now I’m thinking the jump was so close to the hull that this is what caused the explosion. Is that the general consensus? She completed the jump?

Correct. Back to Cavil with Hera.

The raptor clipped the Galatica before the jump. When that happened she lost control for a moment. Then she got it back and made the jump.

As much as i’d like her to redeem herself I think she’s a hopeless cause.

BTW when the repeat was on at midnight we were in talk shoe. Had the sound down and did a play by play of the reactions Chief was having when he found out he helped Bommer take Hera. Thing was it was real easy cause of Aaron Douglas did a great job in that final moments.

And I was thinking that he’s not so great with kids either, he’s “lost” 3 of them: 1 - Nick, who was his (he thought) and then -surprise!- not his. 2 - That imaginary kid in the projection. 3 - Hera, somebody else’s kid!

And yeah he was totally played - my exact words while watching him tear through the now empty imaginary house.

I think Boomer is way more frakked up that Tory. Tory is just a selfish bitca. Boomer has emotional problems I think that stem from being a sleeper agent and then having everyone she loved and cared about betray her. Not that Boomer has any excuse for what she did.

I have to say though - it’s possible that if they hadn’t put Boomer in the brig and threatened to kill her - she might have chosen a different path. If they have given her a second chance like they have everyone else maybe she would have chosen to be with Chief instead of taking Hera and going back to Cavil.

Just a thought.

I have to say I think Boomer has to be pretty jealous of Athena. Boomer was just going about her business and ended up being a sleeper agent - she had no idea what she was doing and she lost EVERYTHING. She was totally written off by her friends and then murdered by cabbage girl (who subsequently got almost no punishment for it). Athena intentionally impersonates her to get Helo to impregnate here and she ends up living happily on galactica with a husband and child that love her, flying a raptor for the fleet like Boomer used to do.

Hell I’d be jealous too.

I think Boomer is a little deepr than that. I think the whole thing was planned, and that Cavil was behind it. He let Ellen go, because he knew he needed all 5 for rebuilding the ressurection technology and sent Boomer to get Hera. Boomer knows the ship, she knows the people, she knows where to go and what strings to pull. I think Cavil will hold Hera hostage to exchange for the 5.

I think it’s difficult to guess what Boomer is thinking because the Boomer we’ve seen in the latter part of S3 and S4 is radically different than the Sharon we saw in S1 and S2, the same Sharon in Downloaded who hated being used against people she loved and who stopped the Cylon invasion of the 12 Colonies. Like Roslin said, “Personal feelings are what Sharon Valerii preys upon. You know that. Better than any of us. You need to clear your head. She is a danger in the brig, out of the brig. Danger to us, danger to our Cylon allies.” Of course, how Roslin came to this conclusion, why the episode treats Sharon as if she had any influence on New Caprica whatsoever (in her convo with Tyrol) when she couldn’t even get Cally freed, calling her people butchers (during New Caprica episodes) for how they treated humanity on NC, or any of the other things that seem out of place to me.

I agree, I think Boomer was indeed sent to the fleet by Cavil, I agree, that if Boomer had been “forgiven” as so many had before her, she might have abandoned her allegiance to Cavil and stayed with the fleet.

Have to say, I would be too.

Yes, Yes !

Very aptly put, MissM!

Boomer’s essentially flipped the bird on everyone in the ship, including the Chief. I think though, that she meant what she said to him in the end (that she loved him). Athena took over the dream life that she (Boomer) could’ve had, staying with the Galactica, loved and trusted by Adama. She might not have fallen for the Chief the same way, but married Helo. Helo accepted her as she was, and she has a child.

I still can’t quite forgive Boomer for doing the deed with Helo, though. I don’t know what justifies that kind of betrayal of a fellow 8. She could’ve just stuffed Athena in the closet, gave Helo the brush off, and then gone for Hera at the day care center.

Boomer is the new Evil.

Boomer certainly seems beyond redemption. But I don’t take anything for granted on this show.

Regarding Boomer and Helo, that wasn’t originally going to happen. RDM mentions this 33 minuets into the official podcast. The original draft they didn’t sleep together, it was just a kiss. Michael Nankin suggested it to RDM on page 44 of the draft, along with Athena seeing it, and Boomer only doing it to keep her cover. (He never states that she does it to hurt Athena). According to the RDM podcast, he said that Michael thought “it would be juicy. It’ll burn up the internet for months,” and RDM said “it’s so wrong that it’s right.” The network was against Helo sleeping with Boomer because they thought it was damaging to his character.

It’s scary when the suits are right.

That’s very interesting info…

I don’t think it damaged his character. I think his character will be fine. He’ll feel guilty and that he was had. Things might get rocky with Athena, but they’ll be focused on getting Hera back. And those two been to worse places than that. It just showed how messed up Boomer is that she would do that to such a nice guy when the last time she saw him she was leaving him on nuked out Caprica.

Well, following the “This is Boomer” episode, it doesn’t make him look any brighter. (Neither does Dollhouse, but that’s another rant.)

This is new information how?
