Book Club Selection: March

Greetings and Salutations fellow GWC Book Crüe and welcome to the Book Club.

Please note:

  • You will be able to vote for multiple books
  • Campaigning is recommended. This is friendly and fun. If you have thoughts about a particular book…let us know!
  • Your votes will be public per the vote
  • Voting will close on last day of this month

New feature below!
In order to facilitate continued discussions and lobbying on the selected books I will maintain a handy-dandy list of links to the discussion threads in each month’s voting thread. The links are:

Burgess, Anthony - “A Clockwork Orange”
Fforde, Jasper, “The Eyre Affair”
Gibson, William - “Neuromancer”
Heinlein, Robert A. - “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress”
Hunt, Stephen, “The Court of Air”
Lem, Stanislaw - “Solaris”
Martin, George R. R. - “A Game of Thrones”
Mccarthy, Cormac, “The Road”
Niven, Larry - “Lucifer’s Hammer”
Niven, Larry - “The Mote in God’s Eye”
Potter, Tiffany “Cylons in America”
Scalzi, John - “Old Man’s War”

Stupid multi choice polls won’t let me cause through my proxy rage. Can you put me down for Old Man’s War?

You don’t have access anywhere w/o the proxy?

C’mon Game of Thrones. Or Neuromancer. That works too.

If Neuromancer gets edged out again at the last minute… well, there’s always April. Again.

We will read it eventually, don’t worry.

Looks like there is a Game of Thrones is gaining momentum…could be another close race!

I’ve read it before but Game of Thrones is awesome, and I look forward to reading whatever the forum decides, as I’m always looking for a great new book, and I’m very picky.

I wonder if I can hack the Gibson…

I’m waiting until Saturday to vote…in case it ties again at the end.

I too am hoping for Neuromancer this time around.

I am the only person to vote for, “The Road”? <grumble>

I noticed ‘The Road’ after I voted. sorries.

Craaap. I advocated for the damn thing and missed it somehow.

No worries, it has enough support to hang around another month.

Gibson, William - “Neuromancer”, FTW! Finally!

w00t! Another classic we can cross off the list.

Yay! I’ll be reading it at the end of the month…

Ahh well, the Karovy Milk Bar (Burgess) will have to wait for us malchiks at a later date.

It may be mid April, but I just finished Neuromancer - am I missing the thread for it?
