Book Club Selection: January

Gibson, people!

And out of curiosity, what do we do in the case of a tie?

People, PEOPLE! We must be prepared for the zombie invasion!

It is I, Robot by a nose!

Bah I say!

I robot it is. I knew I had it. Its in french so I hope they didn’t translate the places and names like lord of the rings or it will be a pain to listen to the podcast.

Lord of the rings in french they translated everything, names, places, terms. It was a weird passage from the english version later. Except like frodo is frodon. The worse is Gandalf horse, shadow fax who in french if you translate it its grey hair. Not as cool. Its like the name you give to a cat.

Looking forward to reading the book since I never read it but saw the movie. Like usual the book is probably better.

Two totally different things. The movie was based off the concept of the book I, Robot. The book is a collection of Robot short stories written in the 40s and 50s for the pulp scifi mag ‘Analog’, I believe.

The movie has the two doctors who developed the robots and the Three Laws of Robotics but the events in the movie aren’t in the book at all.

IMO, the book is a study in entropy. Humans play god and the madness ensues!

…I don’t know what entropy is, but I am going to go over there and get me a cup of coffee…
