Best Star Trek series

I had a DS9 crowd like that. It was awesome. It was the first time I watched sci-fi with a group of people. It’s more fun like that. We would talk into the night and early morning about the episode. Very much like our own frak parties, 'cept in person. I prefer it that way and wished we had hologram tech to make that possible.

I have to say that my favorite is TNG for the nostalgia. I do have to say that TOS has the best intellectual stories and DS9 is great because they get much more into the relationships between the characters.

judging by your nickname and avatar, a fellow Naruto fan? Sharingan is awesome.

I had to go with DS9 on this one. I enjoyed the story arcs, especially in later seasons as opposed to the stand alone nature of TNG.

HOWEVER, I am actually a big fan of Voyager…but I can admit that it wasn’t the best series.

I’m finally to S7 on DS9 - everyone I’ve spoken to tells me it’s not as high quality as 5 or 6, but it’s still great awesome fun.

What? Expect awesome episodes, such as Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges or the other one where they go into Sloan’s brain…

Yeah. The beginning of S7 is a little out there but the last 10 episodes are one big arc. Awesome doesn’t even cover it.

Hey Frakkintalos,

I saw this in the bookstore last night. I assume it is your bible…

Romping Rocketman!!

I have not seen that. Where the frak is that rainy day money?

I have been reading this thread and I have to echo the sentiments of a previous poster, its nice to be in a place where people are not overwhelmingly negative and poisonously hateful.

With the BSG break I have found myself looking back on older sci fi loves. I would say TNG was probably the best but now that Voyager is in re-runs I find myself being much more forgiving of it as I watch it now.

I have a love/hate relationship with Voyager. There were things they did, such as pounding that reset button, that made me beg the gods for something with balls, something more realistic, and the gods and RDM delivered BSG onto us and it was good (praise be to the Cylon God or Lords of Kobol).

Loved 7 of 9; thought she was a genuinely great sci fi character.

Welcome aboard, BK.

She was a “Spock reboot,” of course, but a genuinely interesting one. As was the doctor, in his own way.

I wasn’t following Voyager, but then I didn’t really have to, so the ‘reset button’ worked for me there. Have you seen Voyager? That’s where they broke that mold.

I’ve liked most of it, except for Ezri Dax. No where near as cool as Jadzia. Kind of annoying, actually. Almost Cally-level annoying.

You’ll get no argument from me there. When that happened I was like, “I miss Jadzia.”

My buddy was like, “Ezri’s cute.” I didn’t see it. I understand she is attractive but I was really invested in Jadzia as a character.

In the end, I think she did alright considering the shoes she had to fill.

I also think you’re pushing it with teh Cally-level. It weren’t that bad.

Talos, to be fair, I’ve only seen the first 12 episodes of season 7, so she has time/room to improve… and every time I see her it’s like, SHES NOT JADZIA! I must be worse than Worf, lol.

I’m right there with ya. She’s not and she won’t be. I wish Terry Farrell had stayed. That Becker gig really worked out for her. (Now I’m just being obnoxious)

what’s really annoying about DS9 S7 was the amount of screen time Kai Winn got… granted she is one awesome character. her evil is the closest thing to real life evil. But oh my, she really annoys me and freaks me out at the same time.

I second that. They could have made more of all the Kai characters and Winn was especially annoying. They should have made her a) hot b) young c) way more evil and d) hot.

Well, I’ll admit she wasn’t young, but there’s no way you can… Okay, I can’t even finish that joke.

Somewhere someone posted a thread about characters we love to hate, and this just reminded me that I think Kia Winn is one of those characters. Her ability to be so weaselly worked so well. It was also particularly hard to watch in the mid-90’s because her character also coincided with the mainstreaming of a certain fundamentalist element in American culture as well. She just frakkin drove me nuts, and I couldn’t stop watching…

Perfect description, Phil.

Hey! Stop that. It wasn’t me.
