Best Geek Movie of 2011 (Moneyball)

Hi folks,

I know at first blush Moneyball might not strike some as a “Geek Flick” but I believe this is probably the best of 2011.

The adaptation of the book (which I read and re-read several times) is pretty well put together. The use of statistical modeling to discover opportunities was truly fascinating. It’s well worth a look.

I agree that Moneyball is a geek flick, just on a topic not usually associated with geeks. Very good movie, I would highly recommend it.

So far, my favorite geek movies of 2011 have been Tron Legacy, X-Men First Class and Rise of Planet of the Apes. I just saw Tron Legacy again, and I need to see the others again to really judge.

Wait… Tron was my favorite geek movie of 2010! X-Men and Apes it is!

For Geek movies my vote would be for Paul. (because of all the Geek Homages)

For SciFi movies it would be Rise of the Planet of the Apes. (just because it is so awesome)
