I don’t know if the new BBC show “Being Human” has made it onto anyone’s radar yet. I’ve just seen the last in a six-part series that looks to be continued, and I can recommend it.
The set-up is a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost sharing a house in Bristol. So far so absurd, and there is plenty of (great) comedy in there. However, it’s also very dark and addresses some of those questions beloved of sci-fi and decent horror - what is it to be human and all that stuff. It also takes the usual supernatural narratives and ideas of vampires versus werewolves that have been worked out ad infinitum in trashy superficial horror flicks and gives them a great, often somewhat adult, contemporary twist. Subtle, dark, funny and very well written - something that might help some of you with the transition to a post-BSG universe.
