Battlestar Galactica FAN ART

Hey y’all.
I’m new around these parts, and couldn’t find a Fan Art thread.
Every genre web community usually has a good collection of artists.
It would be cool if some of the members could post some work.

I’ll kick it off with this quick piece I doodled over breakfast.

It’s my version of a Cylon rebirthing tub. I was never too keen on the bathtub of goo, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. I tried to invoke a human womb. The pod is supposed to be a uterus, and the tubes off the sides are supposed to lead to ovaries. The body kneels in the fetal position until woken.
I’ll try to flesh out how the glass dome moves open later on. But I want them to split apart like wings on a beatle.

That’s very good. But the kneeling position seems a bit too ‘active’ to me. Perhaps more of a suspended fetal float?

I love the ‘reimagining the reimagining’ aspect of it, too.

Bkitty and BadNewsTigh brought this to our attention a couple weeks back. Artist Grant Gould has a buncha BSG pictures, including this wicked-awesome Star Wars-BSG mashup, featuring a red-dress Leia and a Cylonified Boba Fett:

I love CYLON FETT!
Cool!

This has inspired me to really finish up a BSG related thing I have been working on for oh…five months now. Once the semester is over maybe I can get back to work on it.

5 Months?!
What is it?
Why not post up some progress pics?
Process can be just as interesting and finished work.

Come on People.
Some of you out their must like putting pen to paper.
Let’s see some art!

Here are 2 more pieces I doodled while rewatchin season one.

The first is a Cylon Centurion on the back of a Viper.

This is just a Centurion Study. I know I got the body wrong. But I didn’t have good Centurion refference images on hand

This is six kinds of awesome!

Maybe seven. I sort of lost track.

How fast do you work? (E.g., how long did it take you to do this one, start to finish?)

Thanks! Each of those were about 20 minutes each.

That is frakkin awesome. Great job. Man, I wish I could draw. Must be great to get those images out of your brain and on the page.

Well, I haven’t been able to work on it much this semester. It is not a drawing but I guess you could say a physical work of “art.” Progress pics would be 100% uninteresting.

BTW, your drawings look awesome.

And what are you using? Brush and ink?

I do a pencil sketch and then ink it with Pens.
I usually use Staedtler Pens. They have a nice consistant line quality.
But the ones I posted were done with simple disposable Uni-balls.

I then fill in the blacks With wide-head felt pens.

I’ve done brush, but I never really got the hang of it.

this one is one I’d like to develop into are larger finished / detailed piece.
The thought of Centurions & Raiders rising up againt and ceceding from the 12 models was an interesting thought.
So came the thought of Centurions roaming the universe on their trusty Raider steeds, seeking adventure, like Ronin or Cowboys.
