does anyone else feel an aesthetic similarity between these aliens’ technology/ships and what we saw in District 9? Of course it will feel very different, considering that the Prawns were neither bellicose nor their people’s elite strike force… but I like the similar look of their ships.
Everything I have seen about Battle: Los Angeles tells me that it is going to be a popcorn movie not to be missed. Looking forward to it.
And for anyone who likes the song that plays at the end, I highly recommend checking out the full (7 minute long) music video. Very cool in that disturbing way.

You haven’t heard the story that Skyline was purposely released first to steal Battle’s thunder? Supposedly Battle’s idea was first.
There is a lawsuit on right now because of it. Same guys did the special effects and supposedly “took” some things from this movie and put them in “Skyline”.
Since no one has paid any attention to it on the Random News Thread I guess I will post it here too. This is a promo site for Battle for Los Angeles, it has interactive flash. It presents data on the aliens and their weapons, not everything has been unlocked yet but they will be unlocking more features as the movie premiere approaches. You can rotate the images and click on highlighted points on the vehicles and weapons to learn more about them. It is VERY cool.
I used it in the Random thread. Just didn’t have anything to add.

CAN’T FRAKKIN WAIT
Saw it this morning, it is the OSSIM! 
It is full of testosterone and action goodness, you’ll leave the theater pumped up and ready to defend your world. It even made me think seriously about reenlisting. 
And needless to say; it grinds Skyline into dust, and makes it a distant and far less painful memory…
(And as a bonus there was a CONAN trailer)
It was frakkin Brilliant! Black Hawk Down with Aliens to the nth degree.
Loved it from beginning to end.
