Baltar shall find redemption

I have always had faith in Baltar. I know he is a scum bag who has only ever done anything to benefit himself, but that makes him the perfect character to have on huge selfless act. My prediction is that he will go with Galactica and he will perform a selfless act that will save Hera (or many others) and be the catalyst of those who survive making it. He, of course, will die in the process. It is only fitting that this be the way that Baltar goes.

Any other show, I’d say it’s obvious. This one, however…

I dont think it’d make any sense to be honest. having a character go completely against what you’ve spent the entire series setting him up as?

There would have to be some really outstanding benefit to Gaius to do anything, It just wouldn’t make sense for him to be self less.

I think he will do something heroic, but he will live, because the Opera scene implies that Baltar and Caprica 6 will rescue/raise Hera. The question is what will happen to Helo and Athena?

That’s the thing though. I think they’ve spent the entire series setting him up to finally be selfless. In the beginning, he would make a survival decision without hesitation. Now, when he makes a selfish decision, it always takes him longer than it used too. He always gets that pained look on his face. It is getting more and more difficult for him to be selfish.

The flip side is that his recent struggles with his own nature (‘cut my legs off’ and ‘I wouldn’t trust me either’) sort of demand a resolution. Not saying it will go one way or the other, but it could go either.

He didn’t cross in day break, how self less can he really be? he knows hes in the Opera house Scenes and he still has no interest in helping save Hera?

I just dont buy it at all, Gaius is just good at putting on a show.

I’m sure he’ll do something heroic and will probably die (I don’t take the opera House to mean Gaius gets to do anything). HIt won’t be selfless, though; he will be immortalized by his act.

To me, the Opera House is an allegory for how Cylons (like Six) and humans (like Baltar) give birth to the new future race of hybrids.

I just dont think the opera house can be that. because Karas dads record said Live at the Opera House, that has to mean something.

Or it could just be a clever wink.

They have not left for the mission yet. He still has time to change his mind, which I believe he will.

I can see the one point that he may die heroically, but it won’t be selfless as he’ll be lauded. That one makes sense to me as well. However, he will do something that causes his death and saves others - in my opinion.

Baltar’s a cockroach. No way he dies. I wouldn’t be suprised if only about 100 humans and cylons survive this thing, but I’m certain that any do survive he will be one of them. Besides, who better to write their history and mythology than the “Prophet” Gaius.

in a hot girls boobs…right next to Gods presence:D

I have to agree with those who say that Baltar’s arc through the series has been towards setting him up to not suck for a change (or to surprise us yet again by being squirrely), but given what’s happened in season 4 I’d lean towards thinking he’ll do something good to help other people. That doesn’t mean it will be selfless, though, nor would it have to be. What’s below isn’t a spoiler, but in case people didn’t see the preview, I want to be safe.
Baltar’s suited up in black and shooting at people, so I think we can assume that he goes along on the Galactica mission.

Don’t remember if it was on here or somewhere else that I read that Tricia Helfer said her last scene on the show is with Baltar firing weapons
Should be interesting to see.

to me having him redeem himself at the end with a big heroic act…

it seems a bit to simple for battlestar. i think that he may end up on the mission, but whatever occurs will be more complicated.
