What’s your favorite Back to the Future flick?
The first is my favorite, by far. followed by 3, and with 2 coming in last…
I like the 1st the best. I think I’ve only seen the 3rd one once–long ago. So I’m gonna have to watch it again (Friday Frak Party) to have an opinion about it.
I enjoyed watching 2 last Friday (Frak Party) and as Solai said, it was clever.
It is one of the most CONFUSING movies I’ve ever seen. And it moves at a pace that makes it hard to untangle your confusion—but maybe i’m just slow.
1’s a lot of fun and has great heart, and it’s probably the best of the three. But I like 2 best – it’s more nifty.
Woulda been funny in part 2 if they coulda worked in a scene where, in BiffWorld, some shitty metal hair band is playing an awful rendition of “Power of Love.”
I think i like part 2 the best. We get to see 3 different times which is cool. We get to see glimpses of the first one and see how Marty interacted within it.
Its also nifty to see how they set everything up and then let everything go.
The next best one would be the 1st cause it was the first. The third is probably my least favorite cause its more of a love story than time travel story. And unlike a REESE’S peanut butter cups (which is a good mashup), i don’t really want the two to mix.
I like the first one because it stands on its own the best and is really the center of the whole universe.
Can anyone think of a good sequel that both advances the previous installment AND stands on its own?
Aliens.

Pike shoots and scores!
Anything else? Aside from Freddy vs. Jason, of course.
Any of the Indiana Jones movies.
Star Wars EP 5, 6, following 4.
Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo
Empire Strikes Back
Debbie Does Dallas 2 thru 72
They really stand up on their own IYKWIM
No way, dude. I thought 8, 14, 28, 51 where excellent, but the rest were kinda crap! I mean, Debbie supposedly dies in an electrical storm, but later comes back alive in a brand new spaceship, with no explanation whatsoever? What kinda crappy plot is that?
Oh man you totally missed the Christ imagery…remeber she came back as Christi…I thought all the underwater scenes gave it away.
Rule of thumb is that the even ones are good.
Yeah… that was pretty surreal. Especially when Debbie and her evil imaginary counterpart, “Head” Debbie were getting it on, oh man, that was crazy.
I love the Lord of the Rings Trilogy with all my Elven heart, but it’s really all one story. I can’t say they each stand on their own.
Terminator 2 is by far the greatest sequel ever. The Last Crusade is definitely the best Indiana Jones installment. Empire Strikes Back goes without saying. Back to the Future was made so well as a story it is hard to separate them. Aliens I compare to Matrix. The sequels are good but don’t stand on there own and the originals can’t be beaten. All of the Star Trek movies were better than the Motion Picture (except for V, I am still in counseling for that ).
