Hi all, long time listener/lurker first time poster and just wanted to tell you all the awesome thing that happened to me on friday night! So my girlfriend and i work at brookstone and we’re hanging out talking about star trek with another co-worker and out of the corner of my eye i spot Avery frakking Brooks walk into the store! i was shocked! the freakin emissary just walked into the store! so i ran over to him to say hello i told him i was a HUGE deep space nine fan and we chatted for a couple min and i ended up selling him a nose hair trimmer! haha after he left i had a huge grin on my face for the rest of the night! He’s the first star trek captain ive actually met i saw shatner and nimoy on stage but never actually shook their hands. im still amazed that i actually met him!

That is so awesome. I loved DS9, loved Sisko, especially when he returned to the “Hawk” look of shaved head and goatee.

We’ve got a movie here at my Omnimax called “Greatest Places” that’s narrated by Avery Brooks. It’s quite old and not in our regular rotation, but we brought it out for a special engagement a couple nights ago. It’s basically a trip around the world to some of the most spectacular landscapes Earth has to offer, narrated soothingly by the Captain. It’s one of my favorites in our library.
Captain Sisko is a strong believer in being well groomed.
