Avatars and that Too Big Picture

I thought I might try to add an Avatar, but of course the picture I found on the 'net is too big. (At least that is what the site tells me.) Is there a way of shrinking these pictures to Avatar size? Or am I just SOL.

P.S. Please use small words and type sloooowwlly as I am not technically proficient. Much thanks!

Wow! I guess I was REALLY excited about the new avatar. You get chocolate sprinkles with a cherry on top for giving me my new avatar toy AND saving me a nasty grammar ticket. You should take the day off!

As an FYI, Photobucket has the ability of resizing images you upload which is an alternate method to the “Keir saving the day” method.
