Congrats to our newbies(who now have more posts then I)
Hey, so some of us are 'Bot Terminators now… LOL
Just a thought… looking at how quickly people are becoming 1xOG and then 2xOG… We’ve already had our second 4xOG, and we are weeks away from GR becoming our first 5xOG. It’s conceivable we will have 10xOG at some point. 10,000! Incredible.
10,000 posts? Inconceivable!

(* special mention for Poofy: over 3,500 posts, and he only joined on 5/3/2008! Absolutely crazy!)
Poofy is a bot. There’s no other explanation. There have not been 3500 posts to reply to since his inception
Anybody know what it means to be a “'bot terminator”?
It’s in response to recent invasion of the forum by spambots. In an effort to encourage everyone to be vigilant about reporting and terminating these bots in aiding the ever-diligent moderators, we have all been deputized with the temporary rank of bot terminator.
So, if we are all bot terminators, and Poofy is a bot, then… oh, my.
He seems a decent fellow. I hate to kill him.
“bot” (as in spambot) terminator, I assume, is one who hunts down and reports the spammers to the moderators who do the actual elimination, er, removal.
jinx, DBT!

Crap, now I have to keep quiet… until when? Until someone says my name? Do I have to get her something? I forget how this works. Crap, crap, crap…
</inner_monologue>
Dude you totally owe her a coke. No talking till you go get it
Oh, get her a coke… that’s easy, I can do that.
Here we go, Lady D*. I didn’t know which kind you like, so I got both:
(*Not really cocaine. Really, no.)
you’re hereby released from any obligation to provide goods or services. the giggle was plenty
ETA: and that was me laughing at the first one. DBT, you’re a frakkin’ riot
He is funny! Can we keep him?
woof.
ZOMG! Want the baby! What a cute puppy! And all kinds of other exclamations!
Maybe it should be OG x 2 or OG x 3.
Also, I gotta say, in the interest of full disclosure, and a testament to what cool place GWC is: “dxf” is a terrible screen name. When I signed up, I just dashed it off real quick, never imagining that I’d be such a regular. I’d been around a while, and read the blog, and posted a little. But that was it. Cuz I’m really not an internets-forum kinda guy. But the GWCers really aren’t typical internet-forum kinda people either.
And I’ll take a fond moment to acknowledge – among all the other super-swell regulars – Galaxy Ranger, who was the first to break the 1,000-post barrier. And who was initially quite amusingly baffled and dismayed that he’d changed from “Alpaca” to “OG,” as if concerned that he’d been singled out for something questionable. Then the GWC crew explained that the change was for prolific awesomeness. So he’s technically the O.O.G.
Actually, I broke 1K before he did. I only mention that because when he did it we were both confused as to why he was “OG” and I was still “Alpaca.” (The answer was that since I was a moderator I was already assigned to a group, which at that time was also named Alpaca, so I didn’t ‘roll over’ like he did.) I initially ruled out the post count as a reason based on my incomplete understanding of the behind-the-scenes mechanics.
I need to resist the temptation to make anyone whose postcount reaches 5,000 receive the title, “Spammer”
