Astronomy day this Saturday!

The Texas Astronomical Society will host an Astronomy Day on October 24th on the University of Texas Arlington campus.
When: Saturday, October 24th
Time: 2pm-10pm

Where: The Planetarium, University of Texas Arlington, Texas
The day will feature free planetarium shows, solar viewing, evening star gazing, and Astronomy related lectures and demonstrations.

Audra and I went to this the year before last and it was a lot of fun. They have lectures throughout the day and if the sky’s clear, lots of various club members bring out their telescopes for an open-to-the-public star party.

(And if it’s overcast, there are two or three fun star parties a month in the DFW area. Maybe we should do a meetup at one at some point.)

Hey would love to do a meet up at a star party. My kid (7) would be all over this. We haven’t joined in before since I’m but not sure that the Irish Rover patrons would approve of his presence.
