His influence can not be quantified. He will be missed.
if there’s any good to be taken from his passing, it’s that he had a chance a few days ago to approve the manuscript for his final novel, titled “The Last Theorem”, with Frederick Pohl. it’s to be released later this year.
well, I do pray that his soul and famaly find peace
He’s on to that rendevous with the big rama in the sky.
or perhaps he’s become a star child himself
“Overhead, without any fuss, the stars were going out.”

gotta love such a simple yet thought provoking story like that. i just read this great appraisal of clarke from the NYT that looks at the religious aspects of clarke’s work (though he was an atheist). i very much liked the last line, a play on clarke’s own famous quote:
“Perhaps any sufficiently sophisticated science fiction, at least in his case, is nearly indistinguishable from religion.”
