April Fools’ 2011 - The Harry Potter books and movies have come to an end, but the hunt is just beginning. Get a sneak peek at the hottest new TV show this summer.

That looked pretty good… I might have watched that.

That’s pretty funny, although I’m not sure how I feel about the guy pulling the prank.

I agree! It looks like it’d be an interesting show. Better than reality TV for sure!

Favorite April Fool’s from this year:

Google and Nascar having some fun.

Think geek is on form as usual. Although some of them are so damn plausible its really difficult to tell.

The comment boards are going to light up over this one.

I think the inflatable Star Trek chair is already a go. Too bad it’s only rated for 60 lbs. I need one capable of supporting Shatner before I can use it. They also have a vote system so they may go into production on some of them. I love both the hoodies they have up. The Wizard’s hoodie would be fun to play with for certain occasions, like conventions, but it just has a really good look to it that I’d want to wear. The Skyrim hoodie would also be good con wear, or for DnD nights. Having a Dragonborn shout at hand would be fun to punctuate conversations.

I may have cost myself some Facebook friends when I announced yesterday that I had been appointed composer in residence at the Bayreuth Festpielhaus (which only programs operas by Wagner) and was moving to Germany. Still, the fact that one of the people that fell for it was the former music critic for the Washington Post, a man with at least one Pulitzer prize for criticism and definitely someone who should have caught that there is no way that was a real post, fell for it was worth it.

Google was funny this year as usual but… wazzit? Seven or so jokes? Don’t be evil. I really liked the choose your own today’s temperature from a drop down list. Google fiber bar? Not funny.

Honorable mention: The subtle disc icon logo is gone but the video lives on: The YouTube Collection: The Magic of YouTube in Your Hands

(True story: someone didn’t get this until the pack mule showed up. Honest.)

For anyone who has experienced a Kinect related injury, there is no contest:

xkcd’s was easy to miss. The comic varied depending on browser, location and various other factors. I’m sure they’ll be an archive of them all at some point.

I love that AC kinnect video, that would be awesome.

“Wumpus hunter”- Bwahahahahahahaha!

Solai gave me the idea for that one. Hunt the Wumpus was an old (and I do mean OLD) text based game…from '72 or '73. And you can play it online here.

awww, I loved the gwc forum april fools day monikers. Nicely done!

So that’s why all I could see was the hover text in my rss reader.
