I came across this picture a week or so ago. I think this is the largest toy playset ever produced. I was never really into G.I. Joe, but holy Cow…
That must be the thing the GWC guys are always talking about! I thought that maybe they were exaggerating…but holy craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap…
Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn!
lucky bastards i wish i had one of those
but i did have 2 jeeps and a howtizer
Looking at that, I can’t help but think, “I could build that.” Hmm…
I always lusted with every fiber of my ten year old being (or however old I was at the time) for that thing. Alas, it was not to be.
Not that I’d have any space in my room for it. I mean DAMN! (I do love that it’s this huge, incredibly expensive toy, and it only includes one measely figure.)
C’mon! I little woodworking and some paint and you can have one right now!
No I didn’t have the whole thing
but my older brother passed me down the tomcat, it was pretty cool the wings retracted and everything, is it wrong that i kind of wished i hadn’t sold it in a garage sale for like 2 bucks.
wow, But I bet it cant eat apple pie, or can it?
Ah, but it can! You see, it’s a little known fact that U.S.S. Flaggs, when they’re born, are barely the size of a micromachine or titanium ultra vehicle. In order to reach their mature size they must consume vast quantities of food, something like four times their own weight, daily. By the end of their first week they have reached the size of a Star Wars mini-rig and by the end of the second, when they finally build their chrysalis and beging their metamorphosis (and by the way, the U.S.S. Flagg chrysalis is the largest in nature), they’re the size of an average G.I. Joe or Star Wars vehicle.
Sadly, the U.S.S. Flagg is now extinct in the wild, with only a few specimens remaining in captivity. Little is known about their habits. One thing scientists do know is that they reproduced slowly and seldomly, leading to their demise.
I found out one of my friends in High-School had one. His parents picked it up a Garage sale. He said “I had this, it was awesome. It got me so many friends”.
True isn’t it?
I have to agree with Chuck. I see a lot of stuff and can’t help thinking that with a little time and effort I could build something this cool, or cooler. Especially with the prototyping stuff that you can do at home now. Between Vacuuforming, Molding, glue, and the occasional trip to a CNC shop, you can make anything. Assuming I reach my “unreasonably wealthy” phase by the time I have kids, I’m going to be making them freaking awesome playsets.
I’m a little late on this one. But, I’m making my rounds to make up for lost posting time. Yea… that toy set is just sad. Sadder yet still, is that I did know someone that had that. I hated that kid. I always just wanted to take a bunch of fireworks to it. Oh---- to see that thing burn with some artillery shells…
So my post is quite the opposite of chucks…
I don’t look at that thing and say to myself, “I could build that.” I say to myself “I could destroy that with some well placed Blackcat’s…”
wow! if only they still made them, and I could have my apple pie
