Anime fraks, where are people???

Omra and I have been holding fraks for the past 5 weeks. I enjoy Omra’s company, but where are the other otaku? I know you’re out there.

We just finished Moribito. We’re planning on frakking Rahxephon starting the weekend after the meetup.

Is Sunday 6pm ET/3pm PT a bad time for folks. Moribito was at 1pm ET because that time was clear on the calendar when I looked. The BSG rewatch weren’t there. Now, the schedule seems to be BSG at 2pm ET and Firefly at 4pm which leaves 6pm clear unless there’s some feedback.

Omra and I have tried various days for movie/features/one shots (Saturdays and now Thursdays http://forum.galacticwatercooler.com/showthread.php?t=10270 ), but no one else shows.

So, where are folks? Is Thursday bad because of Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice? Sunday bad because of the timing?

Or, are the stuff we’re frakking just uninteresting and my deodorant doesn’t work?

tbh alot of time it’s because I can’t find it or if I do it’s in an unhelpful format.

We’ve been trying to frak stuff that we know is available from Netflix. Is that unhelpful?

Maybe if we found something on HULU, that might make things easier…

Of course the question then would be, is there anything good on HULU?

I posted video links for Laputa and Nausicaa… That didn’t seem to help.

Watching stuff on PC is fine, but I prefer to watch on my TV when possible. That’s just me. I don’t see how people can frak and watch without multiple PCs (unless that’s more common now than I realized).

I watch the video on the top half of my screen and post comments on the bottom half, using two windows. One of these days I will buy a second montor, but that is a ways off…

Unless it’s streaming I exclusively watch stuff on my 360 by steaming it to my 360 so it’s gotta have hardcoded subs. That’s my main problem

You’re using transcoding software? No Netflix?

Many titles are still available in both mkv (with H.264) or avi (with Divx/Xvid) formats. Newer titles with hard subs are becoming harder to find though. I don’t feel comfortable posting where or how to find them though…

I just stream .avis basically, use straight up WMP library to do it. Everything else I’ve found is just a pain in the ass for the most part even if it’s a bit of additional features

DP, since you’ve been replying, you have any ovas or movies you want frakked?

I just haven’t had the time on Sundays to join in, but if you guys are doing RahXephon, I’m there.

I’d be in for watching Rahxephon. Sundays at 6pm work for me. Thursdays would be harder.

To clarify–are we talking about watching the series on an ongoing basis or watching the movie?

Sorry guys, my sleep schedule is kinda messed up on the weekends. That’s how it was towards the end of the first run. It fizzled out because it was just Badger and myself. 4 pm ET would probably be better for me.

Series first, OVA and movie last.

Like I said, 4pm ET seems to be the time for the Firefly rewatch on Sundays. I plan to attend those myself.

However, I’ve become concerned after my last post because starting at 6pm ET/3pm PT would run into primetime on the east coast… Not that I think there’s anything worth watching. Just a concern that makes me wonder whether Saturday may be better.

Sticking with Sunday 6pm ET for now though unless we want to move to noon ET/9am PT before the B5 fraks. Sorry iniksbane and Uchiha.

I’m great with the 6 pm ET. I’m in PT so the 9 a.m. on Sundays would be a little fierce for me. But whatever most people want to do.

Making a note for myself to put “The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury” on the list to frak. Might draw some people with that title.

You might have to try your luck during low Solar activity. Meanwhile, I’m going to rummage through my hard drives for some ISO hunting of some non-licensed fansubs I’ve been meaning to burn. :rolleyes:
