I’m sure they were. There were references to the end of Buffy season 5 in the middle of season 3. Joss does love his foreshadowing.

Well, it was great that they got Drucilla to do the deed… But you know that even if the butler had given her longer life, WR+H would still bring it to this end.

Somehow, I think that was Lindsey more than W&H. He loved her and couldn’t bear for her to die. Frankly, making Angel watch her waste away and die would have served W&H’s goals just as well as unleashing a powerful vampire they couldn’t control.

I don’t know. It looks like WR+H have been playing Lindsey in several spots to get him to do what they want done with her. I think they were trying to really frak with Angel and they don’t mind a long term plan to really get under his skin.

[spoiler]Well, she’s one of TPTB, so she’s diametrically opposed to W&H’s agenda. OTOH, she clearly manipulated events to allow herself to come into our world. I’ve always been of the opinion that her POV, however twisted it might seem, is correct. She’s one of the “good guys”. In the grand scheme of things, she made the world a better place while she was in it. Defeating her led W&H to reward Angel for his service, after all.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]I didn’t think of her as a good guy, but I do get what you are saying. I remember an RPG i was playing where the bad guys didn’t like the player’s lord, so they set up the characters to have a major sucess at the cost of their lord and then they publically praised and rewarded the charcters for the great job they did. It REALLY frakked with the players and their lord. :D[/spoiler]
