an almost Shakspeare moment in TNG

I watched the Mintakan episode last night.

At the point when disguised Troi and Riker walk into the meeting and the Mintakan man who had seen the sickback and the enterprise.( Crusher had tried to erase his memories.) He is saying to his fellow villagers the leader of the god’s ( the overseer ) is called “the Picard”

Troi ( in a shakespearish way) looks at Riker and says “his memories are intact” [no duh!]

Riker in like fashion says " the procedure didn’t work." [duuuuuuh, that’s what she just said to you]

it screams of " for all you idiot’s that don’t get it… here’s some exposition, and for all you guys that don’t want to listen to troi…we’ll let you hear it from Riker as well "

It’s not bad tv actually it screams of clasic TV and stage plays… I kinda liked it. They didn’t even try to hide it really.

it seems that you don’t care about writing properly

deleted - didn’t feel like being a dickhead today.

Cool. Sadly I didn’t even get to see it. But I guess that was your intention.

Yeah, it broke the cardinal writing rule of “Don’t say, it, show it.” Lots of TV writers haven’t wrapped their brains around that one.

I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it was intentional. Trek has been dipping in the Shakespeare well since day one.
