It has been stated that Amy & Rory leave in this last Weeping Angels themed episode in a very emotional way. If Amy & Rory get never-existed-at-all’ed… I shall be very angry! Steven Moffat has even stated via Twitter that not everybody will “make it out alive”. As much as I now look forward to the show getting mixed up and reinvigorated by the changing of Doctors and companions, and look forward to the new companion, it’s very odd the anxiety I’m already feeling over how that’s going to come to be!

I’m happy with how Amy & Rory left. They were getting to a point where they wanted to settle down, but they were never going to be able to choose to not travel with the Doctor. This way it was a decision they didn’t have to feel guilty about so that they could be together but they would know they did everything they could to have their time with the Doctor.
