A theory on Starbuck (no Daniel)

Hi, all. I found GWC a couple weeks ago… I’ve been reading the forums, but until now, haven’t felt compelled to post.

I was thinking about the retcon with Chief and his (former, I guess) son, and wondering why they chose to back away from having another Cylon+Human kid on board. I know that they’ve said they wanted the focus to be on Hera, which is fine, but the thought of having these two kids with their destinies sort of entwined seemed like a cool possibility to me at the time. But my actual thought process didn’t think “Cylon+Human”–it went “Final Five+Human”.

So what if there actually IS a FF+Human that came around before Cavil wiped their memories and seeded them among the colonies? What if it’s Kara? What if her father is Anders?

I have a few issues with this–there might be a timeline conflict (how old is Starbuck anyway?) My main reasoning for thinking that they WON’T pull this is that we’ve already had Ellen & Cavil, Tigh & Six, and next week it looks like Chief & Boomer. I think after that the “OMG INCEST” shock will start wearing off.

Anyway, just thought I’d throw that out there. It would certainly make the relationship between Kara and Anders…interesting. And besides, if Sam played the guitar, there’s no reason that he couldn’t also play piano.

The hole in this theory is that Adama knew Tigh when he “had hair”. In other words, if the FF age, Anders would have to be an old man to sire Kara.

The hole in my theory is that Chief, Tory, and Anders appear to be in their late 20’s, early 30s… so maybe these three don’t age and Anders could still be Kara’s father.

The hole in that theory is that Kara’s mom would probably have seen Anders playing battlestar ball on T.V… and thought, “he still looks so young”.

The hole in the writers’ theory is that Ellen was ressurected as an older woman… which means Tigh was probably resurrected as an older man (like he was on Erf the day he died)… so how could he be resurrected as a younger Tigh with hair? Why didn’t the other three FF age in the same fashion as Tigh and Ellen?
