A Streetcar Named Desire 5/18 @10ish

Stanley as ‘Exposition Guy’ isn’t really working for me. Almost reciting at times.

Nice.

The Academy is just silly at times.

EDIT: Meant to add…An American in Paris won Best Picture.

That’s the era the film was made. It’s time to explain the plot to the audience. It’s so condescending.

groan :stuck_out_tongue:

When Blanche said “I’m gonna call him”, I expected her to reach for her celly. LOL Sign of the times indeed.

People were stupid back then. They needed things explained to them.

LOL.

I fell off my chair. I read that when Stanley said, “Noisy woman in this place.”

I gotta get some colored lights.

I know. It’s hard to remember the lack of ubiquity of cell phones in old movies when they can’t find a phone booth or it’s out of order. Think how differently Psycho would have worked out with a few cell phones in the mix.

I had a friend in college who swore by the erotic power of multi-colored Christmas lights. I just took his word for it.

Personally, I just assumed that he was molested by reindeer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alas, I have never seen Psycho. Should have frakked it with y’all for Mother’s Day.

Blanche is really off her rocker now. “Say hi to ya mother for me.”

She’s a vampire!!!

Really? It’s one of my favorites. It’s available to watch on Netflix. Check it out when you get a chance.

Scratch that idea. Thanx for the image Badger.

Leigh is amazing.

Glad I could help.

You’re not wrong.

Gotta admit, though, if someone came offering flowers for the dead while I was in the middle of existential angst, I probably would have snapped, too.

"They would stagger onto my lawn and call ‘Blanche! Blanche!’ "

Then Pike would bellow from the second story window: “Get the frak off my lawn!”

Why does everything remind me of GWC?

Gentlemen, Blanche’s right mind has left the building.

I hate this part. :frowning:

You have been assimilated.

I disagree. She never had a right mind. Leigh’s performance is entrancing. The mood is ominious.
