80's Movie Arc

UGH! I don’t wanna think about that!

Bring on the hair bands baby! I was 18 in 1988.

That’s a really good idea actually!

And once we’re into non-BSG realms, we’d be one step closer to talking Chuck into finally watching The Godfather.

I’ve never seen it either.

Yeah, me too…in the over 40 seats.

Seriously, if Chuck, Sean and Audra are reading this, here’s my advice: Trust your instincts. Your instincts have been great so far in terms of what you’ve decided to discuss either “officially (arc)” or “unofficially” on the podcast.
It’s always going to be more fun for everyone if you talking about movies/shows that you enjoy and that you enjoy taking about. Hey, I even listened to and enjoyed your Real Genius bonus podcast even though I’ve never seen that movie!

I rather see an arc of some of the older Sci-Fi movies from the 60’s and 70’s…like Logan’s Run, Soylent Green, Silent Running, etc. A LOTR arc would be great too.

I’d think…Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, The Outsiders, Goonies, Weird Science, and I dunno St. Elmo’s Fire which of the above is the only one I haven’t seen

I qualify in the over 40 club, but it still feels like just yesterday…

hey, I recently had a bad hair day that looked like I was from Flock of Seagulls!

…and I raaaan, I ran so faar awaaaaay…I couldn’t get awaayeee!

I’ll be billing you for the diet pepsi damage to my keyboard Ms bkitty

B Kitty you had a bad hair day that resulted in half/some of your hair being a different color than the rest? How’s that work

Like I just said on the blog, I’d be up for an 80s arc, I’d just love to see all the genres treated, not only teen comedy.

So, what I’d also like to hear about is milestones from other genres like horror movies, bad science fiction, romance (Pretty Woman? Officer and Gentleman?), war movies (Platoon, Hamburger Hill, etc.) and action movies (Top Gun!)

This should keep you busy during the lonely, cold autumn evenings.

(To be completely honest, I’m not sure I’ve even seen half of those. YMMV.)

My hair looks really good crimped (i.e. washed at night, braided, and then unbraided in the morning).

Seriously, it even looks fashionable these days.

And randomly, the channel I watch from S America’s new teleserie is about the eighties. It’s going to be fabulous, in a good way. I loved scrunchies when I was a kid.

Oh god…old movies :stuck_out_tongue:

They ALL old movies to you.

Oh god young people

=P

A random podcast thought…How about a flash back to the 80’s with some of the classics including:

The Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Ghostbusters
The Princess Bride

Now there are lots of other classic movies from the 1980’s and these are just a few that come to mind right away. True that they aren’t Sci Fi, but it would be interesting to review them 20+ years after they originally aired.

I’d be up for that! Hey! They are remaking Red Dawn! How about a return visit? Cheesey? Yes, fun as hell? FRAKKIN YES!
