77 Reasons Why William Shatner Is Awesome

I’m a little late with this but for the Shatman’s birthday Trekmovie.com posted the 77 Reasons Why William Shatner Is Awesome. I totally agree.

My favorite:

  1. Two words: Kirk-fu (or is that one word?)

My favorite:

  1. Starred in movie made entirely in Esperanto, “Incubus”

That just made me howl with laughter. Take a moment to think about Shatner speaking Esperanto…there you go.

FYI: frakkintalos…did you see the special thanks at the end? I think we just found your dream job: Shatnologist

Shatner makes me smile.

Amen bruther. Amen. I will dream tonight of being the Stephen Sansweet of Shatology.

Wow. That page is begging to be vandalized. However, none of it would ever last as I am sure he checks it hourly.

  1. Denny Crane!

plus

  1. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

equals awesome

Oh My!

I saw him on Conan O’brien the other night and he was freaking hilarious. Anyone else see it?

How in the world did “Mr. Tambourine Man” not make this list???

Oh my Shat! You’re right. Rocket man made it. Why the frak?!? Well, someone’s getting an email.

The Shat was on The Howard Stern Show yesterday, and he was great !! To the bad blood tween him and George Takei and Nichelle Nichols and the other cast members he said “Whatever happened was 40 years ago! Get over it ! This is pathological ! We’re all going to die soon, let it go!!” His new book is called “Up Till Now” and sounds like it might be a pretty good read for Shatfans.

Shatner rulz.

Frakk, are you or did you make that book signing ??

I listen to the The Dennis Miller show podcast (I don’t agree so much with DM’s politics, but it’s an entertaining show). Yesterday, The Shat was one of Dennis’s guests. A great interview. Talked about lots of stuff, including the famous “Get A Life” SNL skit—Dennis Miller was, of course, on SNL at the time. Unfortunately the Dennis Miller show is paid subscription thing, so you can’t listen to it for free.

Truer words never spoken.

No I did not. hangs head in shame I thought I posted that…probably not…whatever…anywho, I had issues at home and work that kept me from it.

Oh wait, I did post. No I didn’t. It was a PM convo. I was up late one night and LadyD was like, “What are you doing up so late? Isn’t 4am where you are?”

And I was like, “Yeah. Couldn’t sleep. I was beating myself up over missing Shatner.”

Her reaction was, “You’re kiddin. I hope.”

I wasn’t.

Thanx to GR, for pointing this out. I coulda swore this was somewhere else on the forum. Whatever, here it is (again?)

Amen Pike. Amen. You win.

wow, it’s really frightening how well I remember so many of the images in that clip

and animated slash…who knew?

OK, indulge me for going slightly OT for a bit. The thing that struck me about that vid (via boingboing, I forgot to mention) is that this guy did (independently, I’m sure) a bunch of edits that I did in this vid from a year ago:

//youtu.be/Ve4cyx81m1c

Most of it is pretty obvious stuff. If you’ve got a guitar, you’ve got to grab Arex with his double-lute. Nurse Chapel goes down on Spock (that’s a reverse of the actual animation) etc.

Weird thing to me is, I got that Shat album a few months after I did that vid, and it never occured to me to do what he did (probably because it was a PITA to do the one I did do.)

ETA: And the whole point of this post, which I forgot, is that a bunch of his and my cuts were from “The Lorelei Incident” which seems to be the go-to TAS episode for doing a music vid.

It just keeps getting better. NO KILL I

this is your work, talos?
