I love it when the casts get disorganized like this. Not saying they should all be that way, but their is beauty in chaos.
I go to say, I want more dick and fart jokes, I’ll write letters requesting them if you like.

The RV/parade/wife-swapping ramble was one of the best.
Thanks for your show. It kept me going during my last hours of todays bike ride through the Berchtesgadener Land (yeah, there were the last few eps. of Band of Brothers are playing). Shouldn’t have been surprised about Sean being in a porn. lol
Since I haven’t played Mass Effect, and haven’t seen Red vs. Blue or Conan so far, my choice is only Super Mario Bros, the NES version.
I really would like to say that this cast made a pretty bad week bearable. Thumbs up.
Was on vacation last week, so pardon the late responses.
What Ifs:
8-bit world:
I’d have to go with Punch Out, too, for mostly the same reasons. The Mario world is just too deadly and even if I had extra lives, I wouldn’t want to experience all those deaths. Duck Hunt … I can do that already in the real world if I wanted to, so I’m not going to waste my choice on that. Having beaten the original MT: Punch Out, I figure I could do it in the 8-bit world and then enjoy the 8-bit laurels of being champ. 8-bit limos, 8-bit groupies, etc…
Red vs Blue:
Red. Hang with Sarge, drive the Chupathingy. If I went Blue, I’d end up getting shot by my own guy and come back as a ghost. Nah. I have to admit that I never watched the bulk of RvB, so I can’t make an educated choice based on later episodes.
Mass Effect:
Yep. Biotics. If I couldn’t choose my biotic Shephard, then I’d choose Liara. Kaiden was a hybrid-biotic so could never get the power that Liara could. Same with Wrex. The full adept biotic was devastating.
Conan:
Realistically, I’d end up in the snake cult. I’d be the initiate who gets stuck on guard duty and doesn’t get to attend the orgies. I’m also one of the first to die when Conan shows up. Given a choice, though, I’d want to be the barbarian warrior.
Well, it was no flabby cop butt, but I’ll grant that it was highly amusing.
I was disappointed with the What If arc. Not because they were not entertaining, but instead I felt they failed to achieve something interesting. Instead of a What If arc we got a Would You Rather. I was hoping for something more like: What if Han Solo was never rescued? What if Neo decided to work with the bad guys like Cypher did? What if Riker accepted any of his promotions offered to him (this could have been looked at two ways: How would it have affected the Enterprise or how would his ship have been run)? These would have been more interesting.
Chris Hardwick stated in #265, and I’m paraphrasing, a geek is someone who over analyzes everything. This we could have over analyzed in spades.
To take this a step further, we could have handled it like the Fantasy Sci-fi League. Allow the hive to submit their ideas and then each of you could have picked your favorite to air. And then dissected and debate the choice.
What could have been…
What could have been…
We should do a “What If” episode speculating what it would have been like if decided to do that instead of the “What If” we did.
While I wouldn’t describe myself as “disappointed” in the What If arc, I definitely am interested in what you’ve suggested. How would our favorite franchises play out given big story changes.
One of my favorites has to do with TNG. Early on the in the writing of The Best of Both Worlds, The staff had toyed with the idea of having Picard’s abduction be a longer term thing than just the two episodes. How would that have changed the series? Similarly, what if Picard’s assimilation was permanent? Would Riker keep Shelby as an XO?
The Original Red vs. Blue
I’d go barbarian, too, but I think I might have gotten caught off guard stumbling out of my hut drinking coffee the day the Sith horsemen attacked and burned the village to the ground. But I guess that wouldn’t be as ignominious as getting caught in the lamentation of the hands when they showed up.
