#238: GWC's 4th Birthday, Blade Runner

Note quite correct, they explicitly noted that they did NOT watch one with the narration. This limits it to the Director’s Cut or later, all of which contain the unicorn.

Deckard is not a Replicant…he’s a RepliCAN

oops, missed the post wher the dekkard replicant theory was mentioned by somone else, plus I met a friend last night for pinties so was typing fomr my (very hungover) still in bed state.

That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it :stuck_out_tongue:
Phaze
on the “having driven 3 1/2 hours home and gust recorded Gatecast Ep 59 my duty is complete so I’m gonna collapse in to bed, installing ubuntu on lappy can frickin’ well wait until tomorrow when I Can think straight” ID

Regarding sunlight in Sweden. You can always come here in summer, when the sun is up almost 24h per day (it is in the very north). Or in any of the scandinavian countries for that matter.

The down side is the winter with nearly constant darkness. Got good excuse to stay indoors watching TV/movies then though.

Am enjoying this episode, you guys are warm and friendly listening company on this grey rainy morning when I have to stay in near a PC. Radio GWC! Look forward to hearing the Karl Urban as Judge Dredd part of the 'cast, later.

Keep up the great work guys - as always. Hope this finds you all well.

Here’s another thing that looks like EVERYBODY has missed.
Rewatch the numbers Deckard is told by Bryant that escaped. They don’t match up.
Remember that Rachel was already on Earth and should not be counted in the escapees.
Here’s the explanation:
There was another replicant named “Mary.”
She was the “housewife” version. I believe there were even scenes shot with her in it, but were cut for time. Once the whole character was cut out, any scenes dealing with a head count had to be rearranged.
If you closely watch the scene where Gaff arrives after Deckard kills Zora, Deckard has bruises and cuts on his face that he DIDN’T get until his fight with Leon. Zora never hit him in the face but, Leon did. And when Bryant says, “You look as bad as that skin job you left on the sidewalk.” he was referring to Leon.

Set Design:
Sean, Sean, Sean.
I’m SO disappointed in you. You are an artist. You should have recognized the tiles in Deckard’s apartment as those designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect.
Here’s a link to the house itself:

Oh yeah, and happy birthday GWC

ALSO, the Bradbury Building didn’t get any props! That’s his apartment building, and it’s a very cool structure. You may recognize it from Pushing Daisies if nothing else, but it has a distinguished science fiction history. I believe it was in Demon with the glass hand too, among others.
