We talk about the huge change coming to the Xbox 360 dashboard in the next few weeks. We dissect the addition of live TV via antennae to the Boxee Box. We drool over ThinkGeek’s awesome sub-$100 portable retro gaming rig — and quietly add it to both our Christmas lists. And we discuss a reader’s suggestion on how to DIY up your own pair of touchscreen-compatible winter gloves.

Fingerless plus the mitten top for the fingers and a cover for your thumb tip. A magnet holds the mitten top to the back of the glove when not in use. I have a pair of these (boys size) and they are nice!
Well, XBox’s own Major Nelson has announced today (Dec 6th) a “slight delay” in the release of the 360 Dashboard updates! Looks like it’ll still be dropping today, but just…not now.
Chuck: you might want to check out AC Ryans HD minis

They play HD files + surround over optical and subs without a problem.
I love mine for sure.
My experience with video (especially HD) over wifi is that it is just too unstable. I gave up and reverted to installing a cabled gigabit lan. Worth it. Everything plays so much smoother now. Maybe you can have similar results with lan over the powerlines?
Also my wife uses it without having panic attacks. She really dislikes stuff that is not well thought out user design wise. (Who doesn’t?)
Plus it is fairly inexpensive.
They brag about online content stuff like youtube and internet radio, but I have never been able to get that working. However I don`t care about that kind of stuff so that is ok.
