Wow, it has been a long time since I have seen the original. The newer version is,…ok.
Never speak of it, again.
Ugh, frakkin remakes.
The only thing I found clever in the remake was turning the racist juror black, a kind of Farrakhan radical,… that was it. Hardly enough to justify a remake,… sorry I won’t bring it up again.
I was just messin’ around. I wonder, though. What’s the big deal with making a movie similar to ‘12 Angry Men’ (a courtroom drama with the psychological tension) and not call it a re-make? IMO, it demeans the original.
It’s been done for years, horror movies (Frankenstein, Dracula), Adventure movies (King Kong, Robin Hood), all genres really. But it used to be the trailer voiceover guy would say, “A film like Star Wars” or “Indiana Jones in Space” or “A film with James Bond action and romance”. Now it’s just, “A new vision of original” "Not your father’s…ARRRGGGHHH!!!
Let’s face it, everyone rips off everyone before them, even Shakespeare. I guess I’m just getting old but I’d rather hear, “A film like Casablanca” rather than a Casablanca re-make.

Let me stop ya before you start. When BSG came out, I was intrigued with the concept and execution. It’s just since then re-makes have become all the rave. Maybe I’m still angry about the mention of the next Star Trek being the re-hash of Khan. Yeah, that’s probably it.
I would consider BSG a rein-visioning rather than a remake.
Which is noble and far more creative, and worthy of viewing. When original material is reused and merely dressed up with new effects and a more modern soundtrack,… that is just drek.
But when you can see the potential in an old story and take it up to another level the original creators did not see. Or that the technology or budget/time restrictions did not allow. And make it evolve into something new and exciting, that is creativity worthy of praise.
Is that too preachy?
And I prefer ‘In the spirit of…’ or ‘A new adventure in the world of’ than remakes or knockoffs myself. So I empathize.
geek high five (Vulcan hand salute slap)
Anyone? Juror #1? Juror #2? Juror #12? Anyone?
Second alternate, reporting for duty!
OSSIM!! Pressing play
Really capturing the courtroom. The judge reading to the jury with head in hand. Very realistic
This is one of those tense situation in a small room movies, isn’t it?
Ever see Fail Safe?
No. But it looks like the dramatic Dr. Strangelove. Must check that out. Thanx.
Is that Ed Begley, Sr.?
Look at that kid’s face. After the judge reads all them charges and the camera pans over. Poor kid.
Yes. Yes it is. Juror #10
Mr. Hengist!! AKA Piglet.
Really? You’ve never seen it? Might I recommend that for future frakkin’?
It’s a very tense, claustrophobic classic.
Over 50 year old film and people still sound like that in the juror room.
You’ve had jury duty? I’ve never been. Not complaining, mind you.
