Stephenson’s strength is that he can do both really well.
I’m definitely finding more Stephenson after this.
Hey – would anyone be up for a GWC After Frak-Party -style voice get together to discuss the book sometime after the first of November? I know it’s a little behind the times, but I’d get a big kick out of discussing it with everyone – as soon as I’m all the way through.

I’m about halfway through this book and I have no idea whatsoever what it could be about. There are lots of nice little pieces, but I don’t see the big picture yet. I’m very curious about what Snow Crash is, though…

I felt that way at a point in the book, but Pike’s right, just keep reading. 
So what’s everyone’s schedule look like this week for a TalkShoe-based “live Snow Crash frak party” (i.e. book club discussion)? I’m available tonight (Tue) around 7p CT, tomorrow around 6:30p CT, or possibly later in the week. Who’s up for it and when?

Tuesday eve will probably be too soon. Sides, we’d end up talking about the returns half the time. Wed or Thurs after 7 CT would be ok.

But yeah, Tuesday isn’t good. Tomorrow or Thursday would be better, but ultimately a weekend would be best, for me anyways. But I’ll go with the flow.
Anything that starts after 5pm Eastern is too late for me this week, except for Saturday. Not that I’d actually call in, though, but I’d hang out in the chat.
I’m 2/3 in the book and it’s more confusing than ever. The whole thing about ancient Sumer I just can’t wrap my head around. Yet. But Y.T. is pretty hot in my mind.
