It was my impression that the memories were permanently gone and that they were on the course to develop new ones - however if that was the case, without the specific circumstances that brought them together to begin with - those two should never have been together.

“Rockford Files” is dated but still enjoyable. Maybe for some of the dated props and obvious production value sections. I never noticed how 70’s TV was allowed to spend minutes ( literally minutes) of air time just showing the car ( Firefird ) driving around Malibu CA and that was OK. Pay phones make me snicker. The seem to have one prop pay phone ( egg shell style with different paint job) that they conveniently place in scene for Jim to call Beth, Rocky, Angel, Dennis etc. to further the plot.
All in all it hold together by part nostalgia and part James Garner’s personality
